  1. I think it still depends on the upper column. Can you turn the wheels fully when the key is (finally) out? Jonathan
  2. Mine did until I changed the upper column. If it does then I'd try the same as SM25T: ease the wheel a bit each way when it's jammed and see if it helps. Jonathan
  3. ... but is it a steering column lock? :-) Jonathan
  4. Is it a steering column lock? Any suspicion of friction or not quite getting to the right position? It needs to go back. But while you're waiting for that I'd try: A gentle transverse clout to the lock when it happens. Some lubricant in the keyhole and on the key, either silicone or graphite, followed by twiddling the key.Jonathan
  5. Thanks. I'll have a play with that. Jonathan
  6. Haven't seen (or noticed) those pop-up notes on iCloud photos before: do you have to do anything special? Thanks Jonathan
  7. If that swap doesn't solve it I'd want to: Be able to study continuity through the switch as it's operated. Check those relay(s).Can you operate that switch in circuit with it exposed to give easy access to the terminals? Jonathan
  8. It would be interesting to hear what Members have fitted this winter... Jonathan
  9. I'll see if Caerbont can make a Hall effect one with the right colour face or can swap my face in. There are three trusted speedo fettlers. Let us know if you can't find them in the archives. Jonathan
  10. Probably the best single thread. Jonathan
  11. If I wasn't trying to lose mass I'd take the existing one to a specialist and get a quote for repair. Is the ring gear on the flywheel OK? Jonathan
  12. But does it carry any useful ID? Thanks Jonathan
  13. Out of my league but would it be a good idea to: Inspect the cylinders Check the compression Check and change the oil?Jonathan
  14. Excellent idea. Well done. Will you seed it with the existing recent offers from that thread? Jonathan
  15. Include both tool offers and build tips, or just the former? I suggest just the former. Build tips being perfect for a multi-author wiki. J
  16. Crank sender and associated wiring? Oxygen sensor and associated wiring? Jonathan
  17. Well sorted. And that will be useful to someone else some day. Jonathan
  18. Mike: How do you know those are the same as the Caterham part, please? Thanks Jonathan
  19. The third-party one in my second post is also "1071403" at £14.99... Jonathan
  20. Nope, can't find that ID on third-party Ford parts sites. But this one looks very similar... Caterham photo on top: http://www.caterhamparts.co.uk/img/p/4056-4030-large.jpg http://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/lmYAAOSwpDdU6eeA/s-l500.jpg Jonathan
  21. The Caterham parts site describe that as "SKU: PR6314". The same ID is used on the Cosworth Duratec brochure and eg on a performance parts site in the USA. It's helpful to know that the ID isn't restricted to Caterham, but that doesn't quite answer your question. More soon. Jonathan
