  1. What engine? Any recent work on it? Has the engine been drowned? ... Does it only happen with the engine running? Does it happen at rest? Does declutching have any effect? Jonathan
  2. Sorry to hear this. My first choice would also be to get it to a Sevens specialist. Otherwise I can recommend an auto electrician in Oxford, but you'd have to get the car there. And you could have a go at sorting it out yourself with help from BlatChat... if it's only the gauges and it's an analogue Seven that could work well. And a local Member might join in... Jonathan
  3. How far have you got already? Would you like a copy of the wiring diagram for the Seven? I also have some factory notes and some from another Member. Please send me a Private Message with your email address. Jonathan
  4. Image rotation: I downloaded it, rotated it and uploaded it! Why it happens and how to avoid it. ... Searching ... Happy cleaning! : - ) Jonathan

  6. "@JK this is using the upload tool." As upthread... there are two different upload tools. Jonathan
  7. To display a higher resolution image you need to either use the original upload method, that starts with this tool: or copy and paste or link to the image on an external server If you use the shortcut upload, the one that starts with this tool: it automatically and irreversibly reduces the resolution. Jonathan
  8. "My Car Lambda has a black sq connector then a short converter loom to a green connector!" Please could add a photo. Thanks Jonathan
  9. I suggest another check on the condition of the battery. • Can the fluid levels be checked? • What's the battery voltage at rest, minimum during cranking, and at 3,000 rpm? And then on the relevant connections, including the engine earth(s). Jonathan
  10. Thanks for the photos. It would be great to get this documented for current and recent Sevens. How do the different diffs behave in the three tests other than checking the label and the documentation? • Jacking up the rear end and turning a wheel? • Looking at the driveshaft fitting? • Laying down rubber? Thanks Jonathan
  11. How about refurbishing rather than replacing the master cylinder? DIY kits are available for many AP cylinders. And Bigg Red have an excellent reputation. Jonathan
  12. I don't think that would have been a factory-fitted socket. Is there an inline fuseholder in the feed to the socket? Or a piggyback fuseholder at the fuse box? Jonathan
  13. "Speedometer and Instrument Repairs" Jonathan
  14. There's a thread about instrument repairs. I'll add a link when I'm on a better device this evening. Please can you add a photo so that we can identify the type. Jonathan
  15. "I couldn't find anything on the search facility.": Over here. Always happy to help Members play with searching. Jonathan
  16. Thanks for adding the answer. I don't think that I've heard of that failure before. I'll check the archives. What's the car's history? Jonathan
  17. 4,000 rpm @ 80 mph with 195/45 R15 gives a final drive ratio of 3.26. But if it were the 3.62 commonly used with the six speed box that would give 72 mph at 4,000 rpm. Jonathan (Please could someone check the calculations.)
  18. Tips: /forum/chitchat/fitting-new-heated-windscreen Jonathan
  19. "My question is, any suggestions on which ratio diff i have based on the above?" What size are the rear tyres? Jonathan
  20. Congratulations on tracking down the answer and thanks for sharing it. Jonathan
