  1. I haven't tested this since the site transition... either whether it works or whether it's still necessary. Jonathan
  2. A note about extracting image URLs from Dropbox. Jonathan
  3. PS: There's a thread listing some topics for wikis/ Guides/ FAQs. Jonathan
  4. There's been some discussion about this, and I think that it's quite a high priority now that the site has been migrated. I suggest two actions that will inform this: Members' comments on the current collection of Guides etc. Discussion of other sites/ clubs/ associations that do this well. I have a large collection of documents that I'd like to add. And we need to take into account the ownership of documents and what the Club should and shouldn't publish. Jonathan PS: Previous discussion:
  5. I've just been reading the BDR thread... or, to be precise, looking at the pictures. The extra resolution in the default image upload is great. Jonathan
  6. I have Assembly Guides and wiring diagrams for any Member who wants them. As the initial guide to identifying wires I recommend "Commonly used colour codes for British car wiring". IIRC the only tricky job is feeding wires through the wingstay, and for most replacements of this type that isn't necessary. Jonathan
  7. My experience and decision, in the Search Facility discussion. Jonathan
  8. I don't know about these specific lamps but 5.75" black headlight bowls are available, eg from Car Builder Solutions. Jonathan
  9. Ian: I think that a bit of clarification of "mechanical" would help. I understood this to be a mechanical indicator moving across the face of the gauge rather than an electronic display in a Stack or similar. So there would still be an electrical sender. Thanks Jonathan "There will we rehearse, for if we meet in the city we shall be dogged with company and our devices known."
  10. It would be great if you could do some before and after photos showing the illumination down the road. Possibly easiest when you’ve changed one side. And best with fixed exposure. Jonathan
  11. Hi, Jack Please send me a Private Message with your email address and I'll send the wiring diagrams. What are the colours of the wires currently (!) connected at the alternator? Did you replace the warning lamp with an LED? Jonathan
  12. I have some documentation on programming. Please send me a Private Message with your email address. Jonathan
  13. Have you already found the discussion in the forum about the importance of avoiding any twisting force on the radiator at the mounts or any loading from the hoses? There's a school of thought that these are responsible for the recent spate of failures of aluminium radiators. (And there's a completely different theory!) Jonathan
  14. Felt like a good opportunity to test an animated GIF on the new website. Jonathan PS: It's either Watt Linkage or Watt's linkage. : -)
  15. If you want to keep the original senders you'll either have to use gauges that are already known to be appropriate or find the resistance ranges of the senders and then work from that as part of the specification. There is some information on this in the forums but I've never seen it collated. Is your current (!) set-up the factory Stack? 213 Performance have been very helpful. And I'd talk to Redline. Do you need any wiring diagrams? Jonathan
  16. Bolt lists and fastener packs. But for hoses I would check each time. Jonathan
  17. "Speedometer and Instrument Repairs" Jonathan
  18. I wonder if you have something stored locally from before the transition. Can you try from another device that has never seen the site before? Jonathan PS: I'm working though some similar things in order to bookmark the points of entry just where I'd like them.
  19. Experiences with Premier Power. Jonathan
  20. Have you found the Bolt Lists and Fastener Packs and do you already have the appropriate Assembly Guide(s)? Jonathan
  21. A bit more about Assembly Guides for newcomers: the old style contained a lot more text (and IMHO information) than the current pictorial style. I'll send the appropriate version of both types and Owner's Handbooks and wiring diagrams and Factory Notices to any Member who asks. Jonathan
  22. There's a hyperlink to the quoted post in the quotation. And if you want a link to an existing post without quoting you can pick up the unique URL using the ellipsis option ( ... ) and then Share. I can't see a workaround to replicate the *old workflow of using post numbers to help with scrolling to look for the original. Jonathan * But I never liked doing it that way.
