  1. Now we know that it's a Type 9... do you have the excellent notes from Alcester Racing Sevens? Jonathan
  2. I have a lot of Caterham wiring diagrams: available to all Members. (And Assembly Guides, Owners Handbooks etc.) "Standard" British wiring colours. Jonathan
  3. This is very useful: I don't think that we previously found a supplier of wires with tracer colours unless you bought a very long length. Jonathan
  4. Did you find this thread? It has a picture of which plug is which and where. And says that the drain plug is 24 mm. Jonathan
  5. Well done. Thanks for adding the outcome. Jonathan
  6. 1800 K road and occasional track. Medium hands in thin gloves. My original build used a Mountney 300mm. I changed that for a MOMO 260mm. It's just right, apart from slightly obscuring the dials. Jonathan
  7. You can navigate to it through Areas and Groups. Jonathan
  8. Do you already have both the old-style text-rich Assembly Guide and the new-style pictorial version? The former mentions trimming of the hoses and the latter has pictures. Please let me know if you'd like a copy of either. ... There have been lot of failures with aluminium radiators. IIRC bottom hoses on Sigmas haven't been a particular culprit. But i'd still follow the same principles: no twisting load on the radiator from its mounting brackets, and no excess forces of the hoses on the radiator's stubs.. Jonathan
  9. I've looked at the claims and composition of "STA-BIL 360° Protection Ethanol Fuel Treatment & Stabilizer". Is there any evidence that this provides any long-term protection to fuel system components? Thanks Jonathan
  10. I hold to my previous conclusions: It's very important to look for appropriate automotive standards on new materials as well as at the type of material. For several decades those standards have included resistance to fuel containing 10% ethanol. Sevens are likely to use unusual and DIY parts. Inappropriate materials and products used in this way may account for some of the problems in the past. Sevens last a long time, and components of the fuel system should be thought of as consumables on a scale of decades. That includes checking. Jonathan
  11. Yes. Thanks. Where do you pick up the URL? Jonathan
  12. You've already got the email trick. Andrew has described following. Each post has its own URL. You can pick that up using the Share button. That can be bookmarked etc in the same way as any other URL. I don't know if threads now have their own URL... anyone? Jonathan
  13. Are you using a computer or a smart 'phone? Can you control that with: Jonathan
  14. My emboldening. Is that the dipped beam signal from the switch or the +12 V supply? Thanks Jonathan
  15. Isn't 86 SIGNAL IN? if so with the existing switch that would put both lights ON if either dip or main was switched ON. But you could bridge the SIGNAL IN terminals with a suitable diode... Jonathan
  16. I don't know what type of relay you already have in the circuits. ... Add a relay that is activated by the main beam circuit and supplies the dipped beam circuit. Jonathan
  17. Thanks. Yes, if you keep the global setting to use HEIC then passing the image through Photos or Mail will convert it to JPEG. It's now in the new Guide area with the other workarounds. Jonathan
  18. The last time that I checked all of the manufacturers will put the buckle on the left or lap right strap (important for when you fling it sideways out of the Seven) and fit the lap strap adjusters to either pull up or pull down (preference depends on several bits of seat and anatomical geometry). But this isn't always advertised. Jonathan PS: And DIY moving of the buckle is in the archives.
  19. Well done. Is there a part number for future reference? Thanks Jonathan
  20. Well done. I'm pretty convinced about the superiority of penetrating fluid, but I wish that the evidence was better. There is a video with a comparative test somewhere but the experimental design wan't great. Jonathan
  21. Welcome. Did you find this these threads? Jonathan PS: Would you like a copy of the old-style text-rich version of the Assembly Guide?
