  1. Matt: Did you spot #32... that might have crossed with your #33. Jonathan
  2. I used Sikaflex 521. I can't find a reference to Sikaflex 521 in the archives. But there's a lot on other types. The manufacturer describes 521 as an "Excellent adherent, weathering resistant sealant", not as an adhesive. (And notes the slower curing time at lower temperature and "The optimum temperature for substrate and sealant is between 15°C and 25°C.") Jonathan
  3. Thanks I'd recommend the full sausage roll. Both surfaces were sanded to make a roughish surface. Did you remove the paint or powdercoat from the metal stay? And can you tell at which layer it failed? Jonathan
  4. Worst thing was though, the bloody cycle wing fell off! I attached using Sikaflex, and gave it 72 hours to dry, but for some reason it just hasn't bonded. How did you prepare the surfaces? Which Sikaflex product? Did you make a sausage roll or only a sandwich? How cold was it?Jonathan
  5. Developing discussion of CAN bus on 7s. Jonathan
  6. ... does this gauge take an analog input for temp senders or has that signal been digitised in an ecu first? I don't know if they have changed any of the senders, but the signal goes to a CAN controller. Jonathan
  7. Sounds as if we need: The CAN bus IDs etc that Caterham are you using. Someone to recommend a monitor/ analyser. A photograph of those gauges to make it easy to spot them. To discover if different senders are used on Can Bus 7s.Jonathan PS: CAN bus, from Wikipedia.
  8. :-) If you click the second link in my tagline it sets up a new search where you can add your own terms, filters etc. Jonathan
  9. What colour are the wires? Jonathan
  10. I'd take a photo of the gauge and ask Caerbont. Jonathan
  11. You can get 'em stripped, treated and powder coated in any finish you want for £20 ea. at City Wheel Refurbishment in Brum. They do a great job-not worth doing 'em yourself!. When was that, please, Paul? A few years ago there were both plaudits and brickbats... it would be good to know that they're now reliable. Thanks Jonathan
  12. Have you got the wiring diagram from the Assembly Guide? I think that the new style has the layout. Let me know if you want a copy. Jonathan
  13. Thanks. When investigating the WWW they advised fitting a CAN bus to help pull the right load as LEDs pull a lot less - that can solve flickering - and it did - but just for one of them Does a 310R have either CAN bus or pulse width modulation on the lighting supply? Jonathan
  14. Previous observed values and discussion. Jonathan
  15. Did you find anything interesting on the electrical leads? Jonathan
  16. I can't see the photos in #5 (Safari, macOS). Ed obviously could... Jonathan
  17. That's good to know, thanks. Does the Club discount cover renovations and alterations? Jonathan
  18. ... and found crystals all over the cap and the fluid looking very cloudy. Was it very cold? Thanks Jonathan
  19. I still reckon 3y on the shelf and 2y in the 7 would be well within tolerance... What did you do, John, please? Jonathan
  20. Please could we have the definitive recipe while it's fresh in your mind? Thanks Jonathan
