  1. Is the problem that they used to be there and have disappeared? What happens if you try and a photo to one of those as a test? Jonathan
  2. Which blog? Are you trying to upload photos or link to them on another server? Jonathan
  3. Does anyone have a car seat suitable for a small 4 year old? Thanks Jonathan
  4. I trawled through the the repairers... I thought that John Ostick would rebuild using the original face and needle... did he say that wasn't on? Thanks Jonathan
  5. Can't find anything in the archives. And I couldn't find the spec on the Revotec web site, but Merlin have this: There might be a conflict of interest but 213 Performance, the new UK service centre for Stack, have been very helpful to the Club... Jonathan
  6. Please could you take some photos of the beam pattern, dipped and main, when you've only changed one side to make it easy to compare old and new? Thanks Jonathan
  7. Ah, there are different senders are there? In the wider world, yes. how would I find out the range of the one that Caterham has put into the sump tank already? The two best approaches might be: See what's worked for others (as you are doing). I haven't seen any suggested mismatches, but I haven't ploughed through all of the previous discussions eg in #2. Identify what you've got and check the specs. Have you got part numbers for the two senders that you want to connect?Jonathan
  8. Have you checked that the resistance ranges of the gauge matches those of the senders? Jonathan
  9. Have you found the previous experiences and kit required specifically with the Think Automotive gauge? And spotted the Club discount? Jonathan
  10. What's a stall light, please... same as ignition warning light? Jonathan
  11. There is just a hole there, so I am assuming the bulb and holder must have fallen out at some point. Looked all over but can't find it. And there isn't a mysterious rattle from the instrument? If you can't find the missing bits locally you might be able to get them from one of the repairers in the UK. Jonathan
  12. I have tried to find some replacement fittings but have no idea what the material in the picture below is called... 3M Dual Lock might be similar. Jonathan
  13. The pad does not actually fit flush, mainly because of the buttons and wiring, the original interlocking pin type material actually does a good job, but just needs fresh pieces to be secured to both parts. I had repeated detachments of the pad using Velcro until I shimmed the surfaces with thin double sided foam tape until they were all flush before applying the bits that hold the pad on. Jonathan
  14. Stuck it back together with superglue and clamped it for a few hours. That's what I'd try, except that I'd use Araldite Rapid if the fragments didn't fit together well. If that doesn't work or you can't find a matching replacement etc then I'd talk to one of the repairers. They can probably rebuild it using the original face and needle. Jonathan
  15. This is the one Ian found: http://www.hoonage.co.uk/images/Noble_Speedo.jpg and here's the diagram from Caerbont's instructions: This might not be the exact model but it's certainly the line I'd be taking. See Ian's comments in #15 about removing the lampholder once you've got the rubber cover off. Jonathan PS: Caerbont instructions.
  16. ... and there is an electrical plug with three wires attached to it. Sounds a bit different from mine. Does it look like the picture in #5? And are there any other wires connected to the instrument anywhere? Jonathan PS: I suspect that there's a little tongue to free the plug.
  17. OK - looking on a map there's a bit of water in the way for most people De minimis non curat Rex? Jonathan
  18. Not sure if this will work but look here... Link works fine. You can upload or link to PDFs so that they show inline but I haven't found a way to show multipage documents. So if you need to display multiple pages you have to handle each page as a single document. But if you then "Open Image in New Tab" on the inline image you get the whole thing: try the one below. However you can also make the whole inline image a link but AFAIK it isn't obvious: try clicking on the one below. http://www.titan.uk.net/_/uploads/casestudies/62/rover_k_series_engine_products_2.pdf Jonathan
  19. The traditional bracket, from a Caterham rather than a Chevy pick-up: Jonathan
  20. I'm now seeing orange for both old and new linked text. Much easier to spot. Thanks Jonathan
  21. Assuming it's the lamp that has failed... Ordinary dash with separate round instruments? Illumination of all other instruments OK? The lampholder probably pulls out from the back of the instrument (towards the front of the car)... but I don't know all the variations on this. You can probably do that by feel alone, finding the lampholder by knowing that it has at least one wire attached to it and is probably off-centre of the instrument. But if you can't then you can release the instrument from the dash without disconnecting anything. Unless it's a very modern type you need to undo two knurled nuts using a finger and thumb in order to release the bracket which holds it against the dash. Something like this: http://st.hotrod.com/uploads/sites/21/2015/07/1965-chevrolet-c10-finger-tightening-nuts-onto-retaining-brackets.jpg?interpolation=lanczos-none&fit=around%7C596%3A372 Then when you can see the back remove the lampholder from the instrument. Once the lampholder is free you can see and remove the lamp. I don't know how many types there are but we can identify it if you can find a number or post a picture of it here. Or you can take it to a shop. Assembly is the reverse... Jonathan PS: You can get lamps of different colours and/ or replace them with LEDs...
  22. That sounds as if it's coming on when the system voltage is low. I'd start by checking the battery voltage at rest, minimum during cranking and at 3,000 rpm. Presumably the shift light was behaving normally in the past... it might be helpful to confirm that it is still coming on when it should. (And that it's not the mystery engine warning light!) Any recent work on the car? Has it been drowned recently? And are all other electrical bits working normally? Have you both got the appropriate wiring diagram already? Jonathan
  23. Pretty sure there are guides in the archives as thats where I got my info in 2004. Yes: Parts General issues, mostly with premade pipes, but lots of advice on routing and a trick with an elbow.Jonathan
