  1. Welcome. Now that you've got some answers to the question you did ask.., how about DIY? It's not a job that's going to throw up unforeseen problems, there's lots of good advice available here, and it's quite likely that some friendly local Member would come and chat in person... Jonathan
  2. The cap is only a dust seal ... It does not form part of the hydraulic operation of the clutch. http://www.rrsilvershadow.com/Techn/Hydr/BestH/Master.gif That might not be quite the same as a 7's but it shows the general idea. Jonathan
  3. Come to think of it, the old fashioned picking up the phone to describe what I'm after to a human being is probably way smarter than hours of web searching! Sometimes it is... but it shouldn't be! Don't get me started... :-) Jonathan
  4. Heuristics for that type of part: 'Phone Redline (and soon, I hope, browse as an alternative). Email Caterham rather than only browsing. (Is Darren still the best point of contact?) Car Builder Solutions. Holden. BLATCHAT!And on one of those specifics: It's "Dzus" (but you're closer than most, and most search engines will sort that out). The sizes (and there are at least two) and, IIRC, some sources are in the archives: let me know if you can't find them.Jonathan
  5. What's the amplitude? Anything unusual on eg the battery voltage? Or on that wire if it isn't connected to that sensor? Experts, please... what's the clever way to rig that test? Edited: And how about making up a new circuit with a free standing battery (or other power source) and wiring that isn't connected to the car but only to the sensor and seeing how that behaves? Jonathan
  6. Is the sensor a Danfoss with internal snubbing? Jonathan
  7. Well done, Rich, and thanks for the additional information. oldboarder: You have Private Mail. Jonathan
  8. Can you find a part number or other identification? If not then how about directly measuring the resistance empty and full? Jonathan
  9. Thanks. There's a discussion about that and a response from Shaun... I'll try and find it. Jonathan
  10. What Jim says. What model of multimeter do you have? Jonathan
  11. Has anyone replaced the standard mirror glass with convex mirrors? As above. And two more solutions: http://www.mirrorsforsevens.com/images/index_picture2.png and... cameras and displays rather than mirrors. (How long before this is the standard technology?) Jonathan
  12. There's a lot on this in the archives but unfortunately it's scattered: the most useful single accumulation of wisdom is probably "A021R to be discontinued". Jonathan PS: Can't help with the underwear.
  13. ... prefer to do a like-for-like swap. In that case... agreed. Tanya
  14. I guess the racers cut everything off that they Donny want to save weight. I was just about to ask about the history! Jonathan
  15. The type of diagram that Caterham now use doesn't show the wires as continuous end-to-end ways. Instead it uses those ID numbers and you have to search for the same number appearing somewhere else. The colours are a *standardish code, where there are two letters the second is the trace colour. (The code values have to get round the design fault in English of too many colours starting with "B"!) Jonathan *
  16. The plot thickens. From the Sigma diagram in my version of the 2014 Guide (Version 02.2014): Jonathan
  17. The pair furthest away from the gear lever are the reversing switch. The other pair is the unused , for my 310SV, neutral gear position connector. That sounds as if it might be different. Did you find a wiring diagram that matched? ... Rich: Please could you add photos and the colours of all the wires. Thanks Jonathan
  18. Do they match Jim 123's description? And have you had the meter on the for'ard set? Jonathan
  19. Yes, its the plastic adjusters but they confuse me every time I look at them. Just keep going in the direction that slackens the cable. Some tunnel covers have a couple of screws in the rear lower corners. Jonathan PS: When you say "squiring"... :-)
