  1. If I'd bothered working out how to post pictures I could share.... Would you like some help? Start with one of the three methods in the Forum User Guide and tell us where you get stuck. The new, leaner method of upload seems popular. Jonathan
  2. (Duplicate post from the other thread.) Lots in the archives on DRLs, including Mavic82's installation of the combined units, with parts and sources. Jonathan
  3. I'm very happy with the Gunson Eezibleed. NB Club discount. I also use a valved tube on the nipples, see Alcester Racing 7s. And, as I learned on BlatChat, it's a good idea not to let the topping up fluid get into the air reservoir. Previous discussions with other recommendations and most of the problems that you might just encounter. Jonathan PS: Some experts advocate negative pressure systems, but I'm not sure why.
  4. It says your mailbox is full. Now why could that possibly be? :-) Jonathan
  5. If you'd like the wiring diagram and fuse and relay layout please send me a Private Message with your email address and details of the Seven. Jonathan
  6. All other circuits including other lights working OK? Check the fuse. Cycle the hazard warning light switch a few times and see if it makes any difference. It's a known point of failure and can affect the indicators as well. Check that the relay is seated properly.Beyond that... do you have a multimeter and the appropriate wiring diagram? Jonathan
  7. I'd test the new module with an arbitrary known good live feed to check that it does suppress. ... Where are the two probes when you're testing the wires at the switch, and which range setting on the multimeter? Does it reliably identify other live circuits? Jonathan
  8. What's the ECU and coil and plug set up? Jonathan
  9. Fuse OK? What colours are the wires at the switch? "Standard" wiring colours... and let me know if you'd like the appropriate wiring diagram. Jonathan PS: Who's going to start the multilingual electrical jokes? :-)
  10. I think you've started two threads on the same subject. You can't delete one, but you can change the Subject so that all the responses appear in the other. Jonathan
  11. Lots in the archives on DRLs, including Mavic82's installation of the combined units, with parts and sources. Jonathan
  12. ... but I find my 180 bhp 360R runs out of steam at around 110mph. What's the engine speed, and do you have the same sensation at that engine speed and full throttle in lower gears? ... it's simply down to power verses aerodynamics etc? With modern logging gear can you get instantaneous forward acceleration and plot it against road speed? (Wind speed would be even better!) Most of the power's going on drag at that speed and the cube relationship should allow you to spot if something else is happening. Jonathan
  13. Ah... I should have been more explicit. There's plenty in the archives on leaks with the speedo drive in place. And the components of the solution are probably very similar. Jonathan
  14. Don't think that I've seen this mentioned before, have you checked the archives? Mazda or Type 9 or six speed gearbox? Do you know what sort of seal or washer is currently in there? Could you post the photo? Gearbox oil top-up, from Alcester Racing 7s. Jonathan
  15. But now you've got time for preventive action on the alternator connections. :-) Jonathan
  16. Well done. Thanks for the update. Jonathan
  17. Please send me a Private Message with your email address and details of the Seven: model, year, engine, dash. Jonathan
  18. First diagnostic step appears to be to work out if it's short of fuel or sparks, which you've already started. How about a short burst of ether into the air intake while it's cranking? Jonathan
  19. Check ECU fuse. Can you hear the fuel pump running? If you can't then check fuel pump fuse. Immobiliser off? Inertia switch reset? Do you have a master or isolator switch of any kind? Potential problems with the electrics could be a dodgy connection to the top of the alternator? There is a push on connector (similar to the connectors on the fuel injectors) which appears to only have one pin which was quite badly corroded - not sure what it does? Do you know what type of alternator? What colour is the wire connected to that pin? Does the warning light come on with the key? Engine turning over well but dead. Doesn't sound like a battery fault but what's the voltage at rest and minimum during cranking? Before we gave up we pulled out a spark plug... Check that leads are connected to the correct cylinder. Do you have the appropriate wiring diagram? Please let me know if you'd like it. Jonathan
  20. Please send me a Private Message with your email address and details of the Seven: model, year, engine etc. Jonathan
  21. Check all the relevant wires and connections that keep the ignition working: switch, battery, ECU, coil or equivalent, including earths. Visual inspection, wiggle, disconnect, clean, reconnect. And the same for the alternator. Measure the battery voltage at rest, minimum during cranking and at 3,000 rpm.... When the car lost power what happened to the lights... unaffected, total failure, dimmed... ? ... Does the ignition warning light behave normally: on with the key, off as soon as the engine's running? ... Any recent work on the car? ... Do you have the appropriate wiring diagram? Jonathan
  22. Recent discussion about this after we were told that Titon weren't making any more. It doesn't positively identify a supplier who will make the adjusters that way round... but I'd: Check what Simon Rogers is now offering, and Ask Luke.Jonathan
  23. Have you got a photo or link for the mirrors, please? Thanks Jonathan
