  1. I’m told my 2006 car is an imperial chassis, does that mean ALL nuts and bolts on the car are imperial? Or like Tony P above are some fittings metric? I don't know a simple answer. But help is available from: Shaun's bolt list and the fastener packsThe appropriate Assembly GuideThe archivesAsking BlatChat.Jonathan
  2. PDF or original dead tree version? Jonathan
  3. I should change the subject of this thread - any suggestions to what? "Why is a fuel pump like a starter solenoid: Resistance is Futile"? :-) Jonathan
  4. I don't think that there are special references in the Assembly Guide and Handbook... and Ian's ahead of me on the Elise document. But if you'd like anything later than 1997 please send me a Private Message. Jonathan
  5. What Julian says. Buyers seem very satisfied.NB You may need a different flasher unit for the indicators. Also, do I need to ensure using the correct LED 'temperature'/ colour if using behind the exiting red/orange lenses ? eg I read that using white LEDs behind red lenses is not that great ? Possibly: reports vary. Please could you take some comparison photos when you've done one side, both on and off axis? Jonathan
  6. Previous discussions of Stilo gear. Jonathan
  7. As once as they go flat they're knackered. Is this generally true for the types of lithium batteries we're all considering for Sevens? Thanks Jonathan
  8. Seems I have a parasitic discharge going on, that flattened the battery in that time. I think I've found the culprit ( self canceling indicator unit )... Drain at rest *varies enormously between different Sevens. How was that unit wired? Thanks Jonathan * As we know due to revilla's research.
  9. I thought maybe you were asking "what would the gauge now display in normal driving without the Wizard connected?" I was, and whether the improved accuracy at low levels would do the job? But now it's got much more interesting... looking forward to what you discover. Jonathan
  10. There are several recommended repairers. I'd ask what they can do with faded faces. (Advantages of repair include them fitting straight back in with the existing connectors.) Jonathan
  11. ... but keep blowing the internal fuse. That unusual. What are you doing when it blows? What type of fuse is it: you might be able to replace it with a resettable breaker. Jonathan
  12. For ordinary use on Sevens I recommend the Draper 60792 with a side order of an additional pair of leads with miniature croc clips. The audible continuity signal can save time as long as you know about the Great Resistance Trap. Jonathan
  13. Your question is a lot more tricky than perhaps you'd imagined! :-) I'd imagined that you'd plotted the response characteristics of the instrument... Jonathan
  14. The easiest way to put photos from an iPhone on to BlatChat is direct uploading. It works fine apart from one report of unwanted rotation. Jonathan PS: I was about to make the same offer, rj.
  15. I could post a couple of pics if there is somewhere easy to put them. What device are the photos on and what device are you using to access BlatChat? Jonathan
  16. Nice work. I'm convinced. What would that be like on the road without the Wizard? Jonathan
  17. Is there more than one grub screw? Jonathan
  18. I suggest starting with Ivan's' brackets. Jonathan PS: We really need a Guide on all of the different approaches to looking backwards.
  19. Les Briconautes has been suggested, well spotted, though tomorrow is a France holiday from what I gather. Website says open today 0730 to 1930. Jonathan
  20. Anyone any safety suggestions regarding the tank once empty, but still fume filled? I gather this is a potentially dangerous circumstance to be treated with great care as regards sparks such as working with tools too soon. Usual precautions: Good ventilation... where is the car?No smoking, including helpers and onlookers.Exit routes decided and clear.Appropriate fire extinguisher to hand.Battery disconnected throughout. No power tools. No grinding or abrading... only place where that might look like a good idea is if you have any crud on the sealing surfaces.Jonathan
  21. Unfortunately I'm not in Saint-Raphaël to help! I can only find one DIY store in Grasse: Les Briconautes with two branches. Now closed, open at 0730 tomorrow. ... but what containers to catch it? Think camping, sailing, wine vrac container. (Scent bottles are too small!) Donate it to another car? Mouth to petrol suction considered, but not favoured! If you have to do that make sure you've got something to wash your mouth with asap then something like mints. The awful taste doesn't last. Remember to keep your 'phone charged. Hope you're sorted soon. Jonathan
  22. To me that's a fail. More, please... Jonathan
