  1. Thanks. Please keep them coming. Jonathan
  2. Thanks, both. That's very helpful. Does anyone know about wingstay clearance for any of these? Jonathan
  3. I think that's it's http://ttvracing.com I'm not getting any nuisance stuff with that: is it what you were trying? Jonathan
  4. The question of computers in the garage has just come up in one of the ECU threads. What do you have? And has everyone discovered how to use the camera and screen of a smart 'phone to inspect the hidden side of eg the dashboard? Jonathan
  5. I suspect that there's not much overlap between the old carefully preserved laptops running the ECU software over precarious serial connections and those uses of Web access. But on the wider point: it's not that many years since I was ridiculed for suggesting a browser in the garage along with the sofa and refrigerator. I'd guess that this is now just about universal but that it's implemented on the browser/ camera/ torch/ video player/ timer/ spirit level that is known as a 'phone. I'll pick this up in a more appropriate thread. Jonathan
  6. I don't know. But you can count it by jacking at least one rear wheel up and turning it by hand and counting turns at the wheel and the prop shaft. Jonathan
  7. Yes, many of us *borrowed the wrench and the socket. Check whether you have 41 mm or 42 mm nuts. And remember that the wrench has to be able to tighten the left-handed nut. There are some in the Loan Directory. Jonathan * Others have rigged a known weight on a known lever.
  8. Yes, some are difficult to access after assembly. But you'll have more tools and adaptors by then! For the others do the final setting loaded as the Assembly Guide says: on the wheels, and with one or two people in the seats, according to taste. Jonathan PS: Have you decided how you're going to torque the rear hubs?
  9. Discussion from 2007: That includes the regulations for road use... they might have changed. There's also a discussion somewhere of using race rear lights as road brake lights... found it but nothing of interest. But did find this is on inertial activation: Jonathan PS: The rear light on my bike can be set to flash when decelerating... but there's neither a brake switch nor an accelerometer!
  10. It's a very common conversion for cars of that age. And all of the bits should be readily available for that Sprite. There's probably a worklist somewhere. The alternator will have a built-in regulator. Is it negative or positive earth? Do they swap pulley sizes on trials cars? Jonathan
  11. Well done, and thanks for sharing those. I'll feed them into the technical information project. Jonathan
  12. Yes. There's lots of technology already available. There should be targets for local implementation and availability. One of my children has an ID.3 in east London with no ability to charge at home. I'm told that it's not a problem once you're familiar with the options/ have the accounts set up etc. Jonathan
  13. There are multiple conflicting objectives: accelerating the transition, raising revenue, and providing the incentives in a transport strategy... if we had one. After a reasonable start the transition has lapsed into chaos. I wouldn't like to see anything that slows it even further. Jonathan PS: That ability to charge (!) differential costs for different uses of electricity is very interesting, not just for EVs but also for local generation and storage.
  14. Thankyou ZapMap has Leigh Delamere at £0.79/kWh for 25 kW. Jonathan
  15. Thanks, all. RAC "Charge Watch" suggests £0.60/kWh for public fast charging. What's the best resource for checking actual prices at service stations... ZapMap? Jonathan
  16. Thankyou Do they have the same thread and terminals? Jonathan
  17. Please can you add the cost of that charge in £/kW hr. Thanks Jonathan
  18. On K series Sevens with ODB2 does one sender drive both that and the gauge or are there two senders? Thanks Jonathan
  19. The first part of this is deciding on the reference method. How about heating up some water in a jug, putting the sender in that, and comparing the result with a known good thermometer? Jonathan
  20. Links to contributing Members from the Equipment Register are U/S. Jonathan
  21. Private Message to revilla. Jonathan PS: I'll log the duff link.
  22. Closest in the Equipment Register is about 60 miles. Jonathan
