  1. I think that you might have. Can you find anything in the boot, and if so what are the colours of the wires? (IIRC some Sevens have accessory power wires.) Jonathan
  2. The English class system expressed in the language of badge engineering. Jonathan PS: Vanden Plas models, including some that never went into production, at the rather wonderful AROnline.
  3. Discussion of the Pipercross kit. Jonathan
  4. It would certainly keep you occupied until a paternal expert arrived on the scene. Jonathan
  5. btw, I was under the rear of my car today - cleaning pieces of pheasant (that I was forced to straddle) off my diff and petrol tank. I can't get it out of my mind that the technical term for this must be "plucking". ;-) Jonathan
  6. This search returned a Carrs paint code and several proprietary colours that are said to be close. Jonathan
  7. But yours are online! :-) (All of the diagrams will be uploaded as soon as I've got them catalogued in a way that makes some sense.) Jonathan
  8. Has it ever worked since the refresh? Have you got the specific wiring diagrams for the Stack dash and the CSR: let me know if not and you'd like them. Jonathan
  9. Yes, that's how I fitted mine, but with a length of steel bar with two holes for the studs. Jonathan PS: It's rather like the trick for removing wheel nuts with a brace, a jack and the weight of the car. Very useful but surprisingly little known.
  10. There's a reply to your earlier question. Jonathan PS: Did you ask again because you couldn't see it in "New and Updated"?
  11. Well done. And thanks for telling us the answer. Jonathan
  12. Any stiffness in the steering when the front is jacked up? How do the two cars compare otherwise: diameter of steering wheel, width of tyres, weight on wheels, rack ratio, front geometry? Jonathan
  13. It's common to not get full scale or a linear response, but yours sounds much worse than most. You can adjust the display with some extra electronic bits. But there's a pretty full description by John Vine of improving this by fettling the float in the tank: start here. (That thread also includes the electronic approach.) Jonathan
  14. I''m not aware of anything like a specification for your Seven in my collection of Assembly Guides and Handbooks. How about a chat with Guy Munday? There might be something in one of the books about Sevens: would that be of any use? Jonathan
  15. Just for senders, not an oil cooler? External search. Jonathan
  16. Club discount is available from memory. It is: 10%. Jonathan
  17. ... that what I was doing was largely similar to using a caphead bolt... The crack propagation might be very different between the two even if they end up with the same dimensions. And if it is the limiting failure condition might also be. I wouldn't do this. Jonathan
  18. Its difficult to insert photos into this posting - Any advise on inserting photos accepted. Start with the Forum User Guide and let us know where you get stuck. Or send me a Private Message if you prefer. There are now three methods. Most Members probably use this one near the end of that thread. It's the simpler way to upload but constrains the properties of the image. Jonathan
  19. (Crossed with Shaun's) For the systems of interest the jaw size of spanners corresponds to the across-face size of the head of the fastener. Table of AF bolt and head sizes. NB: All hex heads have an "across-face" size but "AF" has a specific meaning as one of the Imperial size systems (as described in the linked article). Jonathan
  20. Halfords voucher, and Club discount is in addition to their frequent offers. Jonathan
  21. .... one that can be switched to reverse if everything gets stuck. Otherwise you will be really stuck ... big time. I know NOW! ;-) Jonathan
