  1. 5.5 L, but not agreed. Jonathan
  2. I did a search before posting but didn't find that thread, the search facility here doesn't always find the character string and often produces seemingly unrelated posts. I'd have done that like this: https://www.google.com/search?q=site:lotus7.club+wing+protector+rivet Jonathan
  3. Halfords Advanced 100 is 20 to 100 Nm. For the build I bought a Sealey 20 to 140 Nm, also ½". For trackdays I found it convenient to buy an additional socket for the wheel nuts which lives on it all the time. You'll find there will normally be plenty of folks around you with a boot full of tools and other bits n bobs, and offer help and assistance, whether you want it or not.... :-) Jonathan PS: There are two traditional pieces of advice: take the load off the spring when it's not being used and have the wrench calibrated annually. In order: most of us probably do but have no idea if it's really needed, and "I'm sure that can wait till next year".
  4. There's some recent discussion in the archives. IIRC most people thought that not burning oneself and other people was the most important factor! Jonathan
  5. One that doesn't work but still looks pretty. :-) Jonathan
  6. Doh! Could you get a bust unit and use the frame from that with a custom box on the back? I'd also drop the box behind the frame so that there is a lip to retain stuff. Jonathan
  7. How about one that matches the Stack display? Jonathan
  8. You've got a lot of space there compared to most of us. Do you want a lid and do you have any interest in fitting a satnav as part of the solution? Jonathan
  9. Just checked Rees: it was the Autosport 50th Anniversary model, and an Alpine CD player. My first choice would be a drop-down tray or drawer. Jonathan
  10. Given the position of the filter (just behind the radiator, sitting on the offside of the car close to the side of the nose cone) - has anyone tried putting a vent/air intake hole in the o/s side of nose cone in an attempt to improve air intake of colder air - I've always wondered whether it would make any discernable difference in performance. This keeps cropping up for both combustion and cooling. There are several attempts in the archives including a description and photographs of a fully ducted Seven. It looks very likely to me that both could be improved. But it never seems to catch on, and there are usually good reasons for that... Jonathan
  11. If Redline can't help I'd email Rimmer Bros including the photo. Jonathan
  12. That URL doesn't work for me. Jonathan
  13. I thought it was in the archives but I can't find it. Try Redline? Jonathan
  14. Should be OK without it for a bit. ... Thanks, Andrew. Jonathan
  15. As recently identified! Was that from the start of sales with the current Ford engines? Thanks Jonathan
  16. There are some positive comments in the archives about non-Dremels, from Aldi or Lidl IIRC. I find that not having a trailing wire on my Dremel makes it much more convenient. Jonathan
  17. What model and age of Seven? ... It shouldn't be a problem on most cars: insulate the connector on any wire you've exposed and tape the loose end somewhere convenient so that it doesn't flap about. Not needed for MoT inspection or roadworthiness. But changing gear will have to use other inputs! :-) Jonathan
  18. I'd send it off for inspection and repair. And I'd choose John Ostick because I was pleased with how he sorted mine, but they all seem to have good reports. Jonathan
  19. Please send me a Private Message with your email address and details of the Seven. Jonathan
  20. Does it ever drop to zero? All other instruments working normally? I suspect that it's a fault within the instrument but it would be worth disconnecting, cleaning and reconnecting the contacts. They are repairable. Jonathan
  21. For the cold weather you could use the traditional method of physically covering part of the radiator. Yes. And reports of overcooling seem to be getting more common. (I've just driven home from Nottingham on uncongested dual carriageway: needle hardly lifted.) Jonathan
  22. Please send me a Private Message with your email address. Jonathan
