  1. And what is the doughnut thing - some sort of mini transformer? I can't think why there'd be any AC in there... if it's near the power input possibly a choke to suppress any noise on that. Jonathan
  2. Can you add a photo of the doughnut thing and its connections? Can you tell if all of the batteries are connected in a single series? I wonder if two are used to power the memory... Jonathan
  3. Given the adverse comments I think I might look for a harness that is easier to get in and out of. Discussed here. Jonathan
  4. I'd now Clear History and Website Data in Settings on the iPad. Jonathan
  5. Are you using a gearing calculator to do the comparison? What will your engine speed be at 50 mph with the two final drives? Jonathan
  6. Haven't heard of that recently. It's when you're adding a new post, not editing an existing post? How long have you been registered and has it always done it? Have you tried logging out and in again? Have you tried the same account on a different machine? Does the same error occur when you add a comment to a thread which you didn't start? Jonathan
  7. The most likely reason is the small cable feeding the solenoid has been cooked, and is crispy. How do you think that affects the conductivity of the metal wire? Jonathan
  8. Will doing the relay mod solve the problem ? ... Personally, I don’t think the relay mod is required, unless the relay in the MFRU is failing. ... The click is the final common path of a wide range of problems. As Ian observes there's a vast amount on these in the archives. And one of the things you'll spot in that trawl is the reluctance of some Members to seek a diagnosis before the treatment. Fortunately we have experts who will help. :-) Jonathan
  9. Have you got a manual? I'd start there and then check it with a GPS and adjust. Jonathan
  10. Switches are available from Rimmer Bros. I'd take a photo and ask them. And ask Ian if it looks the same as his. Jonathan PS: Might be off a "Defender".
  11. Recent discussion. Is this for IVA? Jonathan
  12. On the plus side, will this encourage firms like Quaife to develop mazda 5 speed close ratio gear kits? I don't know one Mazda box from another but is this relevant? Quaife Mazda MX5 (Miata) 5 Speed Synchro Close Ratio Gear Kit Jonathan
  13. I don't think so. And I couldn't get a better connection to the Hurricane's engine. Jonathan
  14. Haven't got the details worked out yet, but something like Hawker HurricaneHawker AircraftHawker SiddeleyDe HavillandCostin (could be either according to taste)LotusLotus SevenJonathan PS: Has anyone ever discovered what ACBC flew in the RAF?
  15. That's nice in that the runner is supported along its length so it doesn't carry any new bending forces. But I can't see a neat development that offers alternative heights and rapid change between them that doesn't have that problem. Jonathan
  16. The have thought about the booster seat..... but... have not the guts to ask my wife to sit in a makeshift seat... with plastic padding and foam.. Could be a whole cushion that you swap from side to side rather than a booster. And it doesn't have to look makeshift... once you've got the size right and know that it works you could have a properly upholstered version. Jonathan
  17. I am also thinking of changing to a lowered floor, but need to make a bracket for the seat runner so that my wife (160cm high) can use the car. I am 185cm high. Am thinking of building something that raises the seat in the front posistion, and lowers it if I am driving the car. I can't recall seeing a description of anything like that. How quick a change would you like? Are you thinking of a pivotted bracket that can be flipped over? (An alternative is an insertable cushion.) Jonathan
  18. I want to be able to use an half hood on the car (rainy climate) and need to change to an original one. I think that both of the usual suppliers will make one to fit whatever you have. Jonathan
  19. I would: Consider changing to LEDs, but if not:Confirm lamp type. After SVC and Polevolt ask Holden and Car Builder Solutions including the photo.Jonathan
  20. Do they specify a minimum category? What engine and ECU? Jonathan
  21. Yep went to Halfords, bought something that had an identical looking cross section but sold as fuel pipe, and a clip for each end. What's the internal diameter? Jonathan
