  1. It is, but it's always worked in the end. IIRC there are some hints in the archives. Jonathan
  2. That's supported by a thread from 2001: Redline might know. But please could you tell us a bit more about the problem that you need to solve. Jonathan
  3. From what's posted here it's most common to use something that leaves a rubbery layer. For example, with products and costs: Jonathan
  4. The idea is that they will break easily and thereby reduce the damage to the wing and body where they are attached. I've even heard of people weakening the nylon bolts further by a partial transection. Previous discussions. Jonathan
  5. Have you read about the recommended use of nylon fasteners for the wings? Jonathan
  6. Which four speed 'box do you have? Jonathan
  7. Is that coming down through the boot? If you remove the boot floor could you use a crane? Jonathan
  8. Recent discussion of using a jig: Jonathan
  9. There's a hint about sockets to loosen the half-height head bolts that go up into the roll bar: Jonathan
  10. The Assembly Guide used to say for the radius arm option: NOTE On some series 3 chassis a lower fixing boss is supplied to give optimum suspension geometry when used only for race and track purposes. This setting is not recommended for road usage. Jonathan
  11. Well done. Thanks for sharing the solution. Jonathan
  12. How about a one-piece non-hinging cover that spans the whole battery with prongs that go into the existing slots? Jonathan
  13. Is there a particular reason for fitting these rather than PVC tight-fitting terminal covers? Thanks Jonathan
  14. TTBOMK this can't be done with ordinary user rights. You'd have to ask a Moderator. You can remove the content. Jonathan

  17. Tanya has the Yuasa U1R in stock, and I've always found her very helpful: https://www.tayna.co.uk/enquiry.php Jonathan
  18. Previous references to Yuasa batteries: https://duckduckgo.com/?q=site%3Acaterhamlotus7.club+"Yuasa" ... Yuasa U1R: 30 A hr 330 A 7.8 kg £82.50 Jonathan
  19. There are some comments on Yuasas in the archives. And a running thread on “Best battery”. I’ll dig them out when I get home. Jonathan
  20. How about fabricating an L-shaped bracket that picks up on two good holes and provides a fourth? With appropriate variations in thickness it would then all bolt up in compression. But is there anything that suggests why the tab was removed? Jonathan
  21. The Banner battery commonly used in Sevens has a capacity of 30 A hr, as upthread, and is wet. Jonathan PS: With a battery of this type it's a good idea to check the fluid levels in the cells as part of the routine. PPS: Some Members suggest not leaving it on the smart charger all of the time that's in the garage, but many of us do.
