  1. If it's driven from the gearbox it will. But solutions are trivial for electronic instruments and available for mechanical. Edited: Or used to be! Jonathan
  2. Do you think that removing the hose at the heater was as effective as fitting a bleeding T-piece? Next up is massaging the hoses while it's running. Usual precautions. After that it's drilling a hole in the thermostat. Jonathan
  3. Andrew Revill's analysis of the EU2 ECU loom. But I can't find the answer. There's a suspicion from the factory diagrams that pin 5 in the 14 way connector might carry the signal. Jonathan
  4. I'd check the current ratio as above, and I'd also like to know the circumference of the rear tyres. Jonathan
  5. Jack up a rear wheel or two and turn the propshaft or wheel and count the relative number of turns. It's easier to count the turns if you mark the wheel and shaft. It's slightly different between open and locking diffs, and you need to remember the factor of two if only one wheel is turning. Jonathan
  6. Click the link in post #2. ;-) Jonathan
  7. Which ECU have you got? Jonathan

  10. Do you only need the size of the hex recess (10mm), or the spec of the plug itself? As well as removing the boot floor you can manipulate the suspension to improve access. Notes from Alcester Racing Sevens. Jonathan
  11. Welcome. What are you planning to use it for... road, track? Jonathan

  14. As above, my GPS apps on an iPhone don't seem to drop out. I wonder if it has a peek at the accelerometers when the satellites are obscured. Jonathan PS: The British Army had navigation devices in armoured vehicles that only used accelerometers in the short period between that being technically possible and the implementation of GPS. IIRC they were accurate to a few meters across a medium sized Middle Eastern country,
  15. Burton Power also have an electronic adaptor for the Type 9 box. Jonathan
  16. After Caterham and Redline I'd talk to VDO, Holden, and the instrument repairers. Jonathan
  17. Pins run clockwise from top left 1 to 6, then bottom row furthest right is 7 and furthest left is 12. Thanks. I wrote to Caerbont asking if they had the pinouts and any notes. I got a reply but it didn't answer the question. Then no reply to my follow-up. Jonathan PS: I'm still surprised that we don't seem to have discussed this in detail before...
  18. I think that you start here. Jonathan
  19. :-) What was the gel battery? I couldn't find many experiences when I was trying to summarise what Members are using. Jonathan
  20. AGM and lithium... have you had a chance to look at the data and recommendations linked from post #2 above? Jonathan
  21. I think that both of the other main options are better! Jonathan
  22. That section has been in the Owner's Handbook since at least the earliest known version for Sevens... I can't see any recent changes or anything specific to CSRs. Jonathan
