  7. Glad it's fixed. But I'm not sure why you're attributing the fix to the last change... did you listen for the rattle after each of the preceding moves? Jonathan
  8. Can you see a wire in the receptacle, and can you post some photos that are better than those from Caterham Parts? ... You could always use a spot-face drill if you have a drill press, to recess the QR stud into the plate slightly. Similar thought, but if you go all the way through either accidentally or deliberately you could glue a piece of eg aluminium strip to the back of the plate with holes in it that pass the shaft but not the head of the fastener. But here's what I'd do: Find and post the part number that's on the cylinder.Add a photo of the old male here and/or use this web search.Look inside the cylinder fitting and use this web search.Ask Redline.That's in no particular order, but if I could only have one it would be 4.   11. I’m sure there has been much discussion regarding this, but I cannot get any past threads via the Search Function. If you post the questions/ search terms here in English I'll run the searches. (Or try the second link in my Signature below.) The Yokohama 021r is still a good all round tyre, great in the wet, I'm sure there must be something newer than this though.   13. Sorry, I don't understand. Which one are you trying to fix? I suspect that the wiring for everything that you need is already there up to the connectors... Jonathan
  14. If so is pedal height adjustable ? You can adjust each pedal fore-and-aft between set positions. Have you already got the relevant section of the Assembly Guide? Then you can bend the pedals. With a cable-operated clutch you can also adjust the height as part of the cable adjustment, but there are other constraints. And on my Seven the throttle pedal was still too low and I had to bolt a block on top of it. Jonathan

  17. Condensation badly in the speedo and a bit in the Rev counter... As above. There's a fix that improves ventilation: carefully sawing a slot in the case of the instrument. Previous discussions. Jonathan
  18. Edited: Crossed with #3 above. Reverse light - When you put the car into gear, the light comes on but then goes out again. It seems sporadic into how long it stays on for. Any ideas? Hmmm... lots of possible faults. Have you got a multimeter and the appropriate wiring diagram? All other circuits OK? And it does it predictably? Start with the easy bits: Have a look at the lamp unit because it's accessible: open it up, look at the connections, wiggle, take the bulb in and out. Try a temporary good earth. Then the reverse light switch and connections at the gearbox. IIRC there are two different types of connectors used.Jonathan PS: Do any Sevens have a relay for the reversing light?
  19. I'd start by exploring underneath the rear of the car: what connectors can you find and what colour are the wires connected to them? Jonathan PS: This is the 1998 Superlight K? What's its history?

  21. Thanks. Wiring up comes up through the tacho, but I can't work out if it's just a connector or adding the sweep. It would be nice to disconnect one of the instruments, jury rig it, and see. Haddock: This could be useful in fault-finding as it helps to identify a single point of failure for two different instruments/ circuits. Earths are common candidates for that but yours staying on when it shouldn't doesn't sound like that. Jonathan

  23. I'd investigate further. But I don't know how those modern ones work (the ones that do the sweep). Have you got a multimeter? And a wiring diagram: if not let me know if you'd like one. ... For the temperature gauge: with the ignition on what happens when you disconnect at the sender, and when you short the sender connection to earth? Jonathan
