  1. Very interesting. Rich: What sort of immobiliser fob do you have? Does it look like this? https://www.google.com/search?q=SITE%3ALOTUS+7.CLUB+IMMOBILISER+MISFIRE+DURATEC Jonathan
  2. If the wiper motor terminals are hard to access: Let us know about the effects of different selected speeds.Check the wiper motor earth at the end you can access, as above. Check the output voltage at the wiper switch on each setting.Jonathan
  3. Morning. A few edits now made to #2 above, including one more question. Experts, please: how accessible is the wiper motor on Rich's Seven? Thanks. Jonathan
  4. Welcome. Have you got a multimeter and a wiring diagram? (The current ones are on the Caterham site and I have a collection of previous.) Are you sure that you want to DIY? NB your consumer rights regardless of any "warranty". ... Wipers This is not normal. Does it happen whichever speed you select and if you ask for a single wipe? Start by checking the feed (voltage to a good earth) and the earth (resistance to a good earth) at the motor when they are working normally and when they fail. ... Speedometer Is everything else, including all instruments, working when this fails? There is a Workshop Notice for older cars which improves the wiring, but yours shouldn't need that. Start with Part B of John Vine's Guides and the subsequent note about the new style of sensors and check if the telltale lamp on the sensor is showing anything when you rotate the wheel. Jonathan
  5. Nice - is there a way to download that? http://barnblinker.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/ESCORT-RS-1600-Supplementary-Workshop-Manual.pdf Jonathan
  6. Same as Tony above: I haven't seen it before, and what are you using? You can't delete those multiple posts but you could change the Subject of all but one of them to "Please ignore". That will concentrate the responses in one place.Jonathan
  7. I have the Caterham factory Assembly Guides and Handbooks, including 1996. That includes a chapter on fitting the Ford engine and the wiring diagram. Nothing else on your engine Jonathan
  8. Welcome. Would you like an Assembly Guide? Jonathan
  9. Please send me a Private Message with details of the Seven and your email address. Jonathan
  10. On DIY: Some good advice above, some of which is repeated here. Have you got a multimeter and the appropriate wiring diagram? Let me know if you need the latter. Sounds as if it's cranking well, but what's the battery voltage at rest and minimum during cranking? Have you tried jumping it from another vehicle? Check immobiliser and inertia switch. I'm not getting either a spark or any fuel from the injectors. ... the pump is priming. How have you tested those? And is that from hearing the pump or detecting pressure in the line? Check all connections, including the the relevant earths. Inspect, wiggle, disconnect, clean, reconnect. I have unwrapped the loom and looked at all the likely connections. Any particular reason for getting to that so early in the process? Check ECU fuse, and 30A is now recommended for Ks rather than the factory 20A. Jonathan
  11. On the original question: Ivor Terrill in Oxford, but someone must know somewhere nearer... I've always been pleased with them, but from the fault you're describing I might prefer a Seven specialist to a good electrician. Jonathan
  12. I don't know of a suitable existing way that could be used... anyone? The easiest method of adding a new unswitched feed might be a piggyback fuse. Jonathan
  13. Presumably stored passwords on the Macbook will remain? That was the bit about which I was uncertain. I don't fully understand the difference between using Safari and using Keychain to manage passwords. Some cookies might store usernames and passwords in which case deleting the cookie will lose them. Tony? You won't lose any Keychain passwords. Jonathan
  14. Are they the same as the ones discussed here? Jonathan
  15. Please send me a Private Message with your email address and details of the Seven. Jonathan
  16. Well done. ... but frightening how many website are in the list. Wonder what would happen if I removed them all............ Some people do every so often, some don't... you won't do any great harm doing it through that Safari dialog box. Jonathan PS: The quick test I was suggesting was File... New Private Window, not File... New Window.
  17. Apple Support page. But you could try File... New Private Window first. I'm not an expert on that but I think it might then ignore previous stuff while you're in that window. Anyone? Have you got another account on the same Mac? (BTW I put a vanilla Admin account on all of the Macs that I support, saves a lot of time with problems like this.) Jonathan
  18. "... and deleting the relevant browser caches." That should probably be: "and deleting the relevant browser caches and cookies." Let us know if you need any help on how to do that. Jonathan
  19. As above: which model and year? Once you've found the bundle you can identify what's already in it from the wiring diagram (let me know if you need one) and the standard(ish) colours. Do you want it switched with the ignition or always on? Jonathan
  20. Can you try the same account on a different machine? I'd also consider logging out and in again (you've probably done that) and deleting the relevant browser caches. Jonathan (Safari 12.0.3 on macOS 10.14.3)
  21. If you'd like the Assembly Guide please send me a Private Message with your email address. Shaun's Bolt List. Jonathan
  22. Previous discussions with recommendations. NB: Several suppliers offer Club discounts. Jonathan
