I understand that there might be other priorities. : - ) But does it have an accessory power socket? Thanks Jonathan
  2. There are probably more recommendations in the archives for Sikaflex 221 and Tiger Seal than for anything else. But here's one for 291. I'm not aware of a comparative trial. And I suspect that the preparation of the stay and wing and the way that the stuff is applied may be more important than the precise properties of the adhesive. After losing two wings I now make a sausage roll rather than a sandwich. Jonathan
  3. "I use some clear plastic tubing of appropriate diameter cut to length (about1/2”) heated up in water to make it malleable then slid over the hook on the bonnet." Same thought, except mine was split black hose. A good fit with the edges glued to each other around the metal fitting would probably last longer than face-to-face adhesion on the metal. Jonathan
  4. Please send me a Private Message with your email address. Jonathan
  5. Can you add some photos, please. Thanks Jonathan
  6. Chris: Let me know if you'd like a wiring diagram. Jonathan
  7. Is this what you have at the moment? Jonathan

These two threads give a fair range of possible positions with photos and sources for mounts: https://www.lotus7.club/forum/techtalk/mobile-phone-mounting https://www.lotus7.club/forum/techtalk/phone-mount Jonathan
  9. "I am mechanically inept and usually take my cars to garages to have anything done to them but I have a reasonable knowledgeable friend to help so should we be able to manage the job easily enough?" Yes. Procedure and tool for the half-height bolt head as upthread. Would you like a copy of the Assembly Guide? Jonathan

There's a lot on both of these in the archives. I'll dig some out later. Do you already have an accessory socket? For this purpose I'd recommend a *single unit with a traditional cigar lighter socket and one or two USB charging sockets, and make sure that they supply 2.1 A charging current and not anything rated lower. Jonathan * And a digital voltmeter if you'd like one.
  11. Thankyou. I know that I'm repeating myself but why not fix it this way? Keep the existing position of the radiator and... "... how about cutting off the upturned end of the hanger, inverting it and welding or bolting it back so that it engages the bobbin directly?" And discarding the drop bracket. (And adding lightness!) Jonathan
  12. "#54 The bobbin's connected to the aluminium bracket welded to the side of the rad and to the drop extension of the chassis bracket." Thankyou. Is there a fixed connection above that as well as as the bobbin connection? Jonathan
  13. While we're waiting for the experts... ... I thought that the horizontal black metal pipe carries coolant from the heater bypass valve to the top of the radiator. But on my 1800 K that doesn't have the slightly smaller pipe on the R coming up from it. And the support brackets are above it not below as in your photos. What's connected at either end? Jonathan
  14. Could you meet those position criteria with two units on the bar, spaced as widely as possible? (And a bit of selective rewiring.) Thanks Jonathan
  15. Hope that's not a misunderstanding of lightened flywheel? : - ) Jonathan
  16. Thanks. I don't know. As illustrated in the LED thread it's very hard to find the various regulatory requirements in one place. This seems relevant for additional indicators: The Road Vehicles Lighting Regulations 1989, Schedule 7 Jonathan
  17. Thanks. Including turn indicators seems very sensible. Any others out there? Jonathan
  18. Thanks. I was wondering if it would be worth considering an electronic drive from the gearbox. Jonathan
  19. What sort of speedometer has it ever had? And what sort of gearbox does it have now? Jonathan
  20. Hi, David. I find that site-restricted searching using an external search engine works much better for me than either of the site's built-in search methods. Using that method DuckDuckGo and Google seem to be about the same. I don't like Google's business model, and try to avoid its products when possible. I'll bounce the discussion of searching in case anyone wants to discuss this: https://www.lotus7.club/comment/2372486#comment-2372486 Jonathan
  21. "If that mount is a solid connection to the radiator, it could well be the source of Marks problem; but what's the bobbin doing there? At first I thought it was just and odd arrangement to connect the bobbin to the chassis but now see it's a solid connection." I'm suggesting losing the solid connection and only having the connection through the bobbin... Jonathan
