  1. Thanks for the update and for adding the details... they'll be just what someone needs someday. : - ) Jonathan
  2. NB date. As winter projects loom... ...a bounce for the Equipment for Loan Register... ... and does anyone have anything to add, please? Thanks Jonathan
  3. And that the crane, the lifting eyes and the torque wrench can be borrowed: /guides/parts-accessories-and-spares/equipment-loan-register Jonathan
  4. I haven't had to do this yet, but I found three useful threads: /forum/techtalk/drive-shaft-boots-left-hand-thread /forum/techtalk/drive-shaft-gaiters-1 /forum/techtalk/duraboot-or-ford-part It would be great to know if Redline stock any... and how about writing it up as a Guide? Jonathan
  5. Excellent. Congratulations. How about listing tools near the top? Jonathan
  6. Does this help: https://www.dropbox.com/s/qgrzhasr7ul931f/Repack%20Instructions.pdf?dl=0 Jonathan
  7. I can't find a discussion of that exact type but if you're sure that you've removed all of the fasteners how about tapping the ends away from the body with a rubber mallet. With it over a soft surface... /forum/techtalk/dismantling-exhaust-silencer Jonathan
  8. Forward from the driver's seat! Jonathan PS: "left a voice massage" I've always had to offer money. : - )
  9. I'll have a look, but I suggest contacting Redline before the weekend. Jonathan
  10. "Tried the search function here which just returned gobbleaduke.." Some experiments over here. Please let me know if I can help using external searches with site restriction. Jonathan
  11. Has it always done this? What oil is in there and how old is it? Which dipstick do you have, and how are you checking the level and filling ? Jonathan
  12. Thanks for posting the solution. Jonathan
  13. Where does the "110316" come from, please? The old unit? Thanks Jonathan PS: Like this?
  14. Please let me know if you'd like a wiring diagram and the relay layout. Jonathan
  15. "Just to add to the mix, you could also consider an RF transmitter style of device, which broadcasts an FM signal picked up by the head unit." "On my last car I used one of the FM transmitter devices(link is external) and it was excellent." Thanks for the reminder. I used one with my first big iPod (hard drive, FireWire), and once you had found a suitable frequency it was fine. It then had a second life in rented cars. Jonathan
  16. "The 3.5mm cable is probably the simplest solution but if you want something a bit neater then consider a Bluetooth adapter." I often use a Bluetooth to 3.5mm jack adaptor. But we need that list of devices to work out which is better in this case... (The KDC 237 doesn't have built-in Bluetooth.) Jonathan
  17. "There is a detailed description of how to do it in the archives." Found it: Luke harness - buckle swap, how? Jonathan
  18. "I think belts are considered handed because you have the buckle in the centre of the car avoiding it being thrown over the side of the car and denting the bodywork. " Yes, that's the most commonly mentioned reason. "When I realised what should have been the case, after about 2 years(!), I tried to dismantle one buckle and change it round but I found it impossible. " There is a detailed description of how to do it in the archives. But I don't know for which types or makes it's possible. Jonathan PS: TTBOMK all manufacturers will make them the way that you want. PPS: As they will for "pull up" or "pull down" lap straps, even if they don't advertise it.
  19. "My 2002 car has just four dip switches, but there are actually only two settings." ... "I'd assumed (wrongly) the 4-switch version would be capable of greater precision (like the 10-switch version)." ... Is this the type described in the Guide as: Jonathan
  20. As above. The stereo unit will identify that input as AUX. Do all of the devices of interest (and in the near future) have that headphone socket output? That will determine your options. If you use an adaptor on iPhones that don't have a headphone socket then I'd recommend buying one that also includes a charging port. Jonathan
  21. I can see it. But NB this forum doesn't appear in the pull-down menu. Jonathan
