  1. For de Dion the 1996 Assembly Guide says M8 x 25mm. Jonathan
  2. Mike: is this in the UK, the UK and other European countries, or somewhere else? And have you found the notes and linked articles in "Trackday Documents"? Jonathan
  3. Same questions as John. And is your horn earth switched or live switched? Have you got a wiring diagram and a multimeter? Any recent work on the car? Jonathan
  4. If you swap them amd then connect them one at a time does the fault move with the lamp unit or stay with the wiring? Jonathan
  5. This comes up quite often. The penalty isn't lower than for an illegal plate. And annoying the police officer is generally a bad idea: they've seen and heard it all before. (As confirmed by a Member who has been on the other side of the conversation... ) Jonathan
  6. "How do I increase the font size on this system. " The size of the text in your posts, or how posts are displayed on your screen? Thanks Jonathan
  7. "In regards to the airflow - once I've got the NACA Duct in-situ I'll then design a duct to link the NACA back to the footwell and have it 3D printed." I'm not sure how you're planning to seal it but it needs to protect the footwell from a fire in the engine bay. Jonathan
  8. "Is the duct to let air out or in? Just wondered which way around it should go as don't understand how they work!" It's a "submerged inlet duct". The original intention of the design was to pass air into the duct with the minimum disturbance to the external flow. This was because they were developed for aircraft, and most commonly the ducted air was needed for cooling. What is happening to the air at any point on the surface of a Seven is up there with: There be three things which are too wonderful for me, yea, four which I know not: The way of an eagle in the air; the way of a serpent upon a rock; the way of a ship in the midst of the sea; and the way of a man with a maid. : - ) Jonathan From the original 1945 paper: /Users/jonathan/Desktop/Screenshot%202021-12-14%20at%2012.05.29.png/Users/jonathan/Desktop/Screenshot%202021-12-14%20at%2012.05.29.png
  9. Please could we see some beam patterns in a way that that doesn't require registration with Instagram. Thanks Jonathan
  10. Low Flying article. Technical Guide. Jonathan
  11. Which Sikalflex product(s), please? Thanks Jonathan
  12. Ingenuity has been unbounded and a large number of places have been used. I'll try and find some photos. At the moment I have one on a chassis member just behind the radiator, high up on the RHS. Jonathan From one of the Bulk Buy threads: I mounted mine (K Series), 2 vertically infront of engine offset to passenger side. Alloy bracket to hold them and jubilee clip to bottom chassis cross tube. So behind steering rack, nice and low and in rad airflow...so spare oil sits at very near engine temp (ideal for hot topping up). Third is just cable tied on at an angle from drivers side headlamp bracket towards header tank. ... Some photos of 3 in the engine bay. ... Two where I have my heater.
  13. I'm planning to import the next batch when the supply chains are taken from my heart. I've had a lot of enquiries and I hope these sell quickly. : - ) Jonathan
  14. "All wet sump Duratec engines have an oil cooler modine fitted to the RHS of the engine. It enables the engine oil to be cooled by circulating coolant around the oil-filled modine cooler." Jonathan
  15. "The T piece I've just ordered is https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/115121342570(link is external) "This is slightly different from the link Jonathan put in his message. Think I've ordered the right one (GATES T CONNECTOR - 19MM - 7315-00935)" 19 mm, part number 00935 looks fine to me And packs of one won't create a secondary market! : - ) Jonathan
  16. From Chris's blog: T piece alternative My 360R kit’s T-Piece malformed due to temperature within the first few weeks, thankfully Caterham now supply a stronger alternative. Using the manufacturer name, I was able to discover the maximum operating temperature for the supplied T Piece, which is 110°C. To me, this seems a little marginal, so I am changing it for a Gates 19mm T Piece, which is rated to 250C, which seems much more suitable. I sourced it from eBay using the Gates product number (7315-00935) part number (28635). ... Today I found: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/184942797612 Jonathan
  17. "Any idea if there'd be an adverse reaction with OAT coolants?" I don't know of any pertinent observations. And, as I think we've discussed with aluminum radiators with brass fittings, it's probably wisest to match the coolant to the engine rather than to any external component... Jonathan
  18. I don't know why the change happened, but there's been a lot of discussion of this: /forum/techtalk/rear-hub-nut-0 /forum/techtalk/hub-nut-size And we've already got one offer of a loan socket in the Equipment Register: /comment/2381755#comment-2381755 Jonathan PS: Thanks for including the part numbers and the date of change: that's about what we'd concluded.
  19. Please could that comparison include the beam patterns? Jonathan
  20. Which manual is that? If you send me a Private Message with your email address I'll send what I've got for Duratecs. Jonathan
  21. Do you already have the last text-heavy Assembly Guide and the current pictorial version (v2.1)? Please let me know if you need copies. But on the specific question of cooling Duratecs there's a vast amount of experience and several suggested improvements in the archives. If one of the experts doesn't arrive soon I'll add some links... Jonathan
  22. Does anyone have a 42mm socket to add to the register, please? These new-fangled hub nuts won't change themselves... Thanks Jonathan
