  1. Hi All Due to car issues we wont be able to make Cadwell on 14th so there is a place going if required. Geoff, my partner emailed you but didnt get a response but I will try again now as I assume you will want to sell the place to someone who is on the waiting list, if possible. Many thanks, hope those that can make it have a wonderful day :)
  2. Actually, and perhaps this is a bit obvious now I think of it, the current catch tank is a Perrier bottle! It caused me an issue at Goodwood cause the pipe went to snugly into the bottle the pressure built up. I put a hole in the bottle and it solved the issue, but I really need something a bit more sophisticated than that!
  3. Just fitted my original sump back on after wearing away the previous Caterham part! (Think she is riding too low and needs new shox and springs - wish bones arent horizontal?). I took the advice given on here and slightly over filled with oil. Took her for a test run and she spat a fair bit out on the screen under alot of throttle. I have heard they can do this, it doesn't seem to have any issues? I will now have to wait and see if the tappety noise comes back, and save for a Dry sump kit :) Was great to follow all your good advice on this thread :)
  4. Job now done thanks to some help from JaseB! :) We followed alot of the advice but had already done it by the last post! I also took note from the VX Thread about slightly over filling the oil. Think I slightly over did it as she spat some out and up through the vents onto the screen! Having done some reading it seems that can happen with just a little too much in... doesnt apear to be any major issues though. Thank you for all your help!
  5. Thanks for that! Yes it does have the steel things. As you can tell I wont be attempting this unaided, but the advice will really help! Thanks!
  6. That was interesting reading! I do use the 10/40 and like you find slightly over filling helps. Now going to check out the oil pressure relief valve when we put old sump on this afternoon!
  7. Hi I had exactly the same issue with mine. I did cure it by putting on a different sump bought from caterham. However the new sump was so low I have literally just worn it away and am about to put the old one back on so expect the 'tappety' issue to return. I am hoping to go the whole hog and fit a dry sump later in the year. I was told not to worry too much about the noise but as I do track days I wasnt happy with it either!
  8. Just about to put back on my original sump and wondered if any one had any pointers as to why kit has 2 gaskets? Also what torque should I use when doing it back up? all help gratefully taken! Edited by - Pussycat on 7 Mar 2009 10:57:59
  9. Hi Geoff I have posted my entry for Cadwell in Sept so you should get that in next few days! Hope I'm not too late!

It is a great track in the dry but parts of it hold alot of standing water if it tips it down. But think I am going to book myself in :)
  11. Its an idea but a pricey one! Worth considering though...
  12. Hi All, Just had the devastating news that I need a new gearbox for my 1997 Red-Top. Now I know its a Ford type 9 but which one? I've been offered a recon Sierra V6 box which I'm told has a longer short-shaft but is this the right one? Any tips as to the right box', where to get one or any suitable for sale would be much appreciated.
  13. That was me! Been getting alot of blatting action in recently, and Castle Combe next week :)
  14. I have one too... but mine is green + yellow stripe and running on carbs. Must admit if I had seen this one I would have gone for it! I get the impression they don't know too much about where to sell it though so have emailed them. Would be good to see it go to a good home!
