  1. I am not sure about the linkage used on the x-flow but if it is the same as the vx carb one it did the same on mine. I changed it for the linkage from Weber (under carb linkage). This has twin springs and twin cables if needed. It works a treat! James
  2. You can ring on 07973 162353 if you get stuck.
  3. Depending on what sort of nuts they are I may have a tool for removing them. I have not seen the Caterham lock nuts. What do they look like? James I am in S.London/Surrey if this helps.
  4. The S2000 engine is about the only Honda engine which goes the right way. Am I right in thinking it has an alloy head and block? James
  5. Andy Where do you get these slicks from? What sort of sizes are available? James
  6. PTFE tape is ideal for the oil fittings. It would be worth checking the thermostat to make sure thats ok. If in doubt fit a new one. Are there any airlocks or blocked pipes? This could cause the same symptoms. Good luck James
  7. It does sound as though the speedo has had it. IIRC Caterham have changed the speedos (on the newer cars) which means you will need a speedo a cable and a speedo drive! Double check with them. They can be repaired. If you want to do that I can dig out a number for you. How about an ad in the wanted section? There must be a few cars which have a Stack speedo in. The heater and Instrument fuse powers the heater and the gauges ie the fuel and temp gauge. The illumination for the gauges is on the same circuit as one of the side lights. James
  8. Ken I think it is the same as mine.(low pressure for carbs) My one is marked for in and out. If you are local I have got a fuel pressure gauge. I am in S,London/Surrey James
  9. If Chris does not have them please call me on 07973 162353 Thanks James Edited by - james on 15 Feb 2002 22:56:08 Edited by - james on 15 Feb 2002 22:56:40
  10. I had the same problem when I got an ali rad last year. Some new hoses sorted the problem. If the size difference is the same as mine was then I could not see any way the hose would not leak when its under pressure. James
  11. Thanks for the help guys. Forgot to add its a vx engine. Dave Please could you let me have a bit more info? James
  12. Has anyone got any clever ideas for a low level warning light for a dry sump tank? If not a warning for a broken belt? I am a bit worried if the scavenge pump belt breaks! Am I worried over nothing? James
  13. Go on then Arnie what is the new engine? James Should I have asked?
  14. Forgot to add james.seven@virgin.net 07973 162353 James
  15. They are still for sale.
  16. It depends where you are starting from!
  17. Reducing the ride height may make the problem worse. It depends where the roll centres are. If the front roll centre is too low this can induce understeer! As for tyre pressures there is only one correct pressure! The one that gives you even temperature across the whole tread. This is made a bit confusing by running a lot of camber or toe in/out etc. Also its worth remembering that you can set the suspension too stiff. This can make it slower round corners and "let go" suddenly. Just my 2p worth. James
  18. An air leak at the header pipes to collector helps the pops and bangs!
  19. As long as it dosent freeze you should be ok without. Make sure you get rid of any airlocks in the system. Not always as easy as it seems.
  20. Is there much difference between flared and cycle wings? We all know that the flared wings look better! James
  21. What is the most power normally seen with carbs? ie silly cams and lots of revs etc James
  22. Check your other ad for verniers. I also have got a set of standard pistons with larger pockets with new rings etc if you need them. James
