Protecting cables, wires & leads from heat damage

There is some stuff in RS catalogue which is based on fibre glass which I use to protect the wire going to starter motor. I'll try to find the part number. Or Demonsteeks does an protective sleeve which is very good and very expensive Don't use any thing which has metal inside as it can create shorts circuits. I've always put the most expensive oil i could afford in my cars, mostly Mobile 1. I have Mobile 1 Motorsport in my VVC powered 21, which is a 15W40, is it a bit of an overkill then?. My second query of tonight is where should breather pipe go. On a 52mm TB, you have two places where you can connect a breather pipe, one at the top of the TB and the second one at the bottom of it. On my car, the bottom one is going nowhere; there is not even a plug. In addition, the second breather pipe, the one closest to gearbox just dangles down to the ground. Should I connect the second breather pipe to the bottom one? What will happen if oil seeps trough the pipe and go trough the TB & plenum? Jack Emily, The Very Yellow 21

Hello On a VVC plenumn you have a little tube of copper pocking out. It is blocked by a little rubber cap. This rubber cap is getting very old on mine and is falling into bits. Can I bloke this pipe with a bit of silicone? Is there sone risk that the silicone might be suck into the engine? Thank for your help Jack Emily, The Very Yellow 21
