  1. The VVC is a great engine, torquy and powerfull and now Emerald can control the VVC you can have direct to head throttle bodies (DHTB). The VVC suffer from the same problem as the other K, the head gasket as been changed for a better one and the cam belts (2 of them) has been changed. The top can suffer from oil starvation, there is different way to solve this problem. The VVC in my 21, is dry sumped and at 35k+ and it's sweet as a dream Jack Emily, The Very Yellow 21

  15. Steve, I'm a bit confuse by what you are saying about rusting and the Wypac Quadoptic. If they have a glass reinforced polyester resin moulded reflector that is vacuum aluminised, will the reflector rust? If I want to have no more problem with rust, do I need to get the brass one? I have the CIBIE unit fitted but I'm not sure what the reflector is made out of. Thank for your help Jack Emily, The Very Yellow 21
  16. Yes the round one. You don't have some picture of the back of it? Or a spare old one? I don't realy want to buy a set if I cannot fit them. Jack Emily, The Very Yellow 21
  17. Hi I'm looking into changing the headlight of my 21 (rust problem ) If the headlights of a land rover do not rust, they shouldn't rust on my car. I believe the diameter of the headlight is 7", what I don’t know if it will fit on my car. Do someone as some mounting drawing for it attachment/fitting or a spare one I could borrow? Thanks for your help Jack Emily, The Very Yellow 21

  22. Graham thank you for the information I have been reading the technical spec of the 7M91 EXHAUST PASTE & Hi Temp Cement with great care. The worry I have is that the stud will breack loose if I use the 7M91. Have you used this product in a similar application? I'll try to contact Holdtite tomorow Jack Emily, The Very Yellow 21

  24. I’m changing from bolts to studs, to attach the exhaust manifold to the block , because there is one thread damaged, the end one at the end of the engine near cylinder number 4. The damage to the tread is such that I can feel it slipped when I trying to tighten it to the same setting as the 4 other one (hand tight). To solve this problem I was going to use some threadlocker, Loctite 270, which is vibration proof, to lock the studs in place. Before doing so I had the idea of checking the technical spec of it and it says it will withstand temperature up to 250C. So my questions are: What temperature the block goes up too? Does a high temperature threadlocker exist? What are my other option? (will have to be done by me) Thank for your help Jack Edited by - jackb_ms on 18 Jan 2005 13:49:48
