  5. I'm planning a rebuilt of my 21 this winter and I am now at the stage of choosing the suspension set-up. I am thinking of those: Adjustable spring platforms from CC at £275 Or Adjustable spring platforms and race springs from CC at £325 Or The Bilstein race dampers at £95 per corner with adjusters at £146.38 and 250lb springs for the front £22.00 each and 210lb spring for the rear £25.00 each Or The Freestyle spring damper kit with 250lb springs for the front and 210lb spring for the rear for £465 Cost is an issue this is why I have chosen those one and the car is a road car not a track day toy. 13. For big sliding gate, from 1.5 T, they are all 3-phase motor converted to single-phase use. To start any single-phase motor you need to have a capacitor. The motor inside a washing machine are single-phase motor and the big white cylinder on the side of it is a AC capacitor. I will dig my electromechanical engineering and find out how to calculate the size of the capacitor. If you have a 3-phase motor you can have a forward and a reverse or two forward speeds Jack Emily, The Very Yellow 21
  14. If you can isolate the 3 coils it is very easy and cheap to modify it to work on main. You could even have a reverse. What you need is an ohmmeter to isolate the coil and an AC capacitor of around 10 to 16 micro-farad (can supply those, about £5). Some of my bigger sliding motors are three phase motors converted to work on a single-phase power supply. Jack Emily, The Very Yellow 21
  15. I used to have one of those fitted to my rover 214si. It made it smoother and use a bit less petrol Jack Emily, The Very Yellow 21

Try Falken http://www.topgear.co.uk/acatalog/16__Falken_Tyres.php I'm using the ZE and they have huge amount of grip on a 21. I cannot wheelspin at the trafic light and in the wet they are quite good (running 16psi at the front and 18psi at the back) Jack Emily, The Very Yellow 21 Edited by - jackb_ms on 15 Jul 2005 16:51:08
