  1. Hi Just received Lowflying and Caterham Cars are advertising a new VVC-R conversion, with roll barrels and retaining the original MEMs which is reprogrammed. The other option for a VVC-R would be the standards DTH TBs and an Emerald. In your opinion what would be the best option Please discuss Jack Emily, The Very Yellow 21
  2. how old is the emerald? Could it drive the VVC mechanisme? Cheers Jack Emily, The Very Yellow 21
  3. Norman The engine was changed to a VVC before Caterham could get hold of it, so Caterham cannot help me on this one Mav, it's one of your earlier posting giving Kenny's web site who I contacted for the part and he need the engine number. JFDI, haven't though about that, will have a look tomorrows Thanks you all for your suggestions Jack Emily, The Very Yellow 21
  4. The number on my engine seemed to have disappeared, I have been given a picture of where is should be, but I cannot find anything where it should be. I need this number to order the VVC oil temperature sensor. Two questions: Is the number on a part which is grinded of to fit in a Caterham? Is there an other mean of identifying the the engine? My engine does not want to rev further than 6K which is sometime annoying and changing this component should do the trick Thank for your help Jack Emily, The Very Yellow 21
  5. My car used to do it when it was very cold (winter time). After a long drive there was no problem at all but the first half hour was a nightmare I've remove the TB, cleaned it and no problem since! Jack Emily, The Very Yellow 21 Edited by - jackb_ms on 7 Aug 2006 15:13:09

  8. Hi The company has a Toyota pickup Hilux D4D 2x4 single cab, 75K on the clock, the loading bay is lined and it has the tonneau cover It has a Sony CD player and it was serviced regulary by myself. £6.5K Jack Emily, The Very Yellow 21
  9. Hi Tom It's a EU2. The engine is running fine, it just not rev up to the 7000k limit. Or maybe the rev counter is not so precise. I'll change the VVC oil temp sensor and the water temp sensor and see what happen. Should I really worry about not being able to rev it to 7000k? Jack Emily, The Very Yellow 21
  10. its an 1996 engine. I might need to cheked those bits then. Can you test the cam position sensor with a multi metre? Jack Emily, The Very Yellow 21
  11. I believe mine hit the limiter at about 6000K. It's connected to a caterham rev counter, not sure about the accuracy of it. Is this a potential problematic engine? Jack Emily, The Very Yellow 21

  22. Thank Nick The repair worked a treat and I even had a bit of fun on the coastal road 😬 Thank very much for everything, *thumbup* http://www.blatchat.com/T.asp?id=104332 Next time I down in Dorset, the beers will be on me Cheers Jack Emily, The Very Yellow 21
  23. Hi Nick Thank you very much for your answer. The pipe from which the leaks come from is the non-braided which looks like the return pipe I do not know if this pipe is pressurised when the engine is running or not. I'm scared of turning the engine back on for some obvious reasons I will check my oil level tomorrow morning to see if I can drive to you. I would be great if I could pop round to yours Saturday 15, if it's convenient for you. If not, I will need to get some from Axminster or Bridport My number is 07801701773. Thanks again Jack Emily, The Very Yellow 21
  24. Hello On my way down this morning to see my family in Dorset, I manage to hit a stone. I have now a leak where the lower pipe and the engine connect. The leak will probably empty the engine of all oil within a few hours I don’t know if the stone fractured something or just dislodged the pipe. I cannot leave the car at my uncle’s. This is why, I need to be able to drive it back on Sunday. Is there someone with a jack who could help me in further inspecting of damages? And maybe in some kind of repairs? I’m in Charmouth near Lyme Regis The car is a 21 with a dry sumped VVC Thanks for your replies. Jack Emily, The Very Yellow 21 Edited by - jackb_ms on 14 Apr 2006 14:48:14
