  1. Hi I'm looking for a lightweight flywheel for a K engine Cheers Jack Emily, The Very Yellow 21
  2. It is often the back emf of the fan which power the ecu which make the engine run. I have a similar problem on mine but the fan is not running 😔 Jack Emily, The Very Yellow 21
  3. Hi From a previous post it has been found out that, after a leak test the piston's rings were leaking cylinder 1: 48% cylinder 2: 18% cylinder 3: 10% cylinder 4: 25% I'm about to have the bottom end rebuilt, but I am still worried on how those leakage could have happen. What are the possible cause of the pistons ring failing? Would it be an issue with the oil filtration? Would an inspection of the liner explain what might have happened? How to stop it happening? Cheers Jack Emily, The Very Yellow 21

  8. Hello I'm going to have to change the piston+rings and liners of my VVc eu2 engine. I have been offered some VHPD pistons and single-tang rods. I am not sure what is involve changing the pistons (i.e. which parts need to be changed, etc...), is there somewhere on the web a description of how it is done? I have also a few question: Is it worth changing the rods? How much more work is it to change the rods? Which other parts do I need to change if I replace the rods? Thank you for your help Cheers Jack Emily, The Very Yellow 21

  16. Hi My car is about to have some DVA magic done to engine. The engine will be connected to an Emerald K3. What are the benefit of having a wide band lambda sensor (innovate LC1)? Will it help the engine run better? In which condition? Does the Emerald really needs it? Thank you for your help Jack Emily, The Very Yellow 21
  17. What could be the cause of a leaking cam seal on a VVC dry sump engine? ageing of the seal? oil pressure to high? Jack Emily, The Very Yellow 21
  18. I can deal with the loss of oil by stopping every 10-15 minutes. Would that stop the risk of loss off bearing lubrication? If the car stays in the same position a little puddle will appear underneath. the leak will stop by it self after a few minutes What I am worried about is the cam belt slipping and the damaged that would cause. Can this happen? Jack Emily, The Very Yellow 21
  19. what are the risk of running an engine for about 40 mile with a leaking cam seal apart from the loss of oil? Jack Emily, The Very Yellow 21
  20. It's coming from the rear of the engine, behind the cam belt cover (VVC engine). Emily, The Very Yellow 21
  21. Hello I'm having a bad day, took my car to work this morning and she was working fine, like a dream. As I arrive closer to work I started to smell oil coming from the front of the car. After inspection I have discovered a major oil leak coming from the top of the engine on the exhaust side. It seems the cam seal is dead. I am a member of the RAC which they rescue the car back home. The car is due to have some worked done by Dave Andrews on the 20st of August. So the question is, is it possible to do some running repairs to the cam seal which would last the 40 odd mile to Dave's Or Does some one as a tow vehicle and a trailer on which i could take the car to Dave on the 20st of August? cheers Jack Emily, The Very Yellow 21
  22. Darren K80RUM has all the information you need. I've bought the same bit as him Jack Emily, The Very Yellow 21
  23. A PRRT may be the way forwards Before fitting a PPRT the fan went on at 85 and temperature went down to roughly 75 when the fan stopped. Leaving the car stationary with the engine on was always a worry for me. I've finally fitted a PRRT to my VVC and from the stationary test the coolant stay at a rock steady 80 degrees even after about 1/2 hours. Jack Emily, The Very Yellow 21
  24. Simon I have a noise meter thing and not to far away from you (Abingdon) You are welcome to pop round if you want jack Emily, The Very Yellow 21
