the easiest way to di it would be to buy a second hand engine and sell the bits you don't need. I hace seen some vvc engine for sale going for £500 Or as DVA Jack Emily, The Very Yellow 21
  23. Hi I have a 52mm TB for sale £70+pp or pickup from Uxbridge or Abingdon Jack Emily, The Very Yellow 21
  24. The engine is rated @ 143bhp in a MGF. It is possible the engine breath better in a 21 and the only other modification I did was to fit a 52mm tb on it. I doubt those modification could produce 17bhp more than the 143 bhp stated. For the last few years the VVC mech were not working which mean the oem MEMS was not letting the engine rev past 6300 rpm or lower. So it is not possible that the engine revved to 7200 rpm or produce the 160bhp. The RB have been fitted once before and because of an overheating issue could not be mapped. So the RB were off and OEM TB back on. So I cannot understand when the ring lands could I have been damaged. Could someone elaborate a bit more for me, please, on how it could have happen? An why the idea of running to lean? Cheers Jack Emily, The Very Yellow 21 PS: I'm a numpty regarding engines so please be patient with me I'm learning as fast as I can 😬 Cheers Edited by - jackb_ms on 29 Aug 2009 20:03:53
