  3. Thank you gentlemen It seems I need to have this broken bolt out then Jack
  4. It's the lower position which is buggered. I'm updating the suspension which was abit old... Maybe the solution would be to drill from inside... Jack
  5. Cheers Paul The issue it that I have a bit of bolt stuck in the lower position. I was pondering what was the effect of the position of radius arm and if it was worth the hassle to remove that bit of bolt So basically the in the lower position i should have less "steering" effect Jack PS: On a 21 there is two threaded bushes
  6. On a 21 there is two positions for the radius arm, a lower one which make the radius arm more or less parallel to the ground and an upper one which makes the radius arms at about 30-40 degrees to the ground. My question is what is the effect of the position of the radius arm on the handling of a car? Jack
  7. The problems with the long winded aproach on the 21 is the fair amount of body work to remove 😬 Doug What is the height of those stud extractor? Jack
  8. "Stud" it s not the real descrition but a lot quicker than" bolt with sheared head" Jack
  9. I have been soaking it for 24hrs in Plus Gas, I'll give it an other soaked this evening. The apealing of that product is that it "freeze" which I think may cause less damaged than heat(/) The body work is very much in the may which mean welding is out of the question. Jack
  10. Hello all The the head of the bolt holding the radius arm to the chassi has sheared off in the distance past. The access is rather limited so I cannot drill it out, and there is body work around it so I cannot use heat. Has someone tried this here and this stud extractor here Jack Edited by - jackb_ms on 27 Jul 2012 16:52:27
  11. Yes I mean the radius arm There where fitted on the highest point. However it looks like it has been fitted in the past on the lower one, the only issue is that there is a broken bit of bolt in one of the threads... Jack
  12. Hi Thank you for you kind offer I think from Dave's description I should be ok and I have un earthed a copy of the 21 build manual. On the 21 there is two position for the A frame to De Dion tube, confort and standard. Mine is currently set on confort ( the highest one). If I move to the standard position, what would that do to the handling? Jack
  13. Well a lot of swearing and shouting at the damper and some gentle persuasion made the damper fit 😬 I am pretty glad I changed the spring as it looks like the old one where getting tired... Jack
  14. Thank you all I have remove the back wheel of my car and i have 2 holes in the chassis rail which matches the size of the aluminium clamp. But I cannot see any holes like per Mankee's pictures. On my 21 it looks like there is only an aluminium skin, where Mankee's clamp is fitted What are the advantages of having the roll bar fitted as per Mankee's picture VS on the chassis rails? Matt I may take on your kind offer, are you about this weekend Thank for your help Cheers Jack
  15. Cheers Mankee That's make sens where everything goes Jack
  16. Hello Could you e-mail it to me please? It may help me to understand how to fit it. It's for a 21 so it maybe slightly different any way Jack
  17. Hello All I have looked in the archive but unfortunately the linked I have found which should give explanation is not working. So, does someone one has a "fitting" instructions or picture which shows how the rear anti roll bar fits on a 1996 chassis? Cheers Jack
  18. How do you fit it back onto the car? I wanted to replace the front spring this evening, the driver side damper was remove with out to much problem and refitted with no issue. The near side unit doesn't want to go back on the car. I have attached it loosely at the top and I cannot insert the bottom bolt back in. Is there a special trick? What solution have you used? Cheers Jack
  19. I have a "template" you can borrow if you want Jack Edited by - jackb_ms on 19 Jul 2012 14:00:46
