  1. to be honest I'd probably agree with PC as the higher mass will in effect allow you to absorb more heat in the short period that your braking before disapating the heat to the atomosphere through the disk + wheels. The heat does have to be stored for a short time until it can be disapated.
  2. http://www.aqua-marine.co.uk/acatalog/sitemap.html try having a look at this place under hella lights guys. I know that hella have got car lights already but i don't know where you would get them from. also be carefull as most LED lights probably won't meet uk law which specifies min/max wattage of lights not actual light power, ie LED lights maybe bright enough but may not pull enough power to meet the letter of the law. there's been the same problem on cycles for ages
  3. not sure about this one though knowing how much the yanks bricked themselves when they realised that russia was in space before them anythings possoble
  4. golf matrix's are easliy available for about 23 quid for a pre 94 one comes with a heater valve as well, would be a good heater depending what fabrication you're willing to do as its all alloy just make up an alloy surround and put some 12v computer fans on.
  5. thanks julians can't seem to find any weights for the integra engines anywhere. I was just wondering if they are a different block design etc and if they are more on a par weight wise with a K
  6. julians where did you get the engine weights? what sort of weight is the 1.8 integra engine
  7. how come they're so heavy? I'm guessing honda have gone for a burst proof strong but heavy unit? Does anyone have the actual weights for the type r engines?

    Storage

not sure of this but prehaps bike chain spray ie spray grease might be good if the car is to be stored for a long time. Having said that i've no idea what the engine would make of it when its re-started. Its what I use to stop condesation/corrosion problems with my lathe/milling machine etc
  9. tieraps should be fine used to use then myself on my golf
  10. ahh i know what you mean now, what like a golf/audi syncro that uses a clutch that engages the rear drive when needed
  11. a 4*4 car usaully always has a 'torque' biased to the rear wheels but the front wheels always spin faster which means you get the stability of a front wheel drive with the ability to put down more power without the car understeering or trying to swap ends

    Swirl pots!

on a golf all they use is a high volume/low pressure pump which is immersed in the tank and pumps directly from the fuel, feeding a highflow/pressure pump and then 2 a pressure acumulator with no swirl pot at all not sure if this helps or is relevent. The helper pumps are available separently if you need one
  13. firstly i'd change the fluid to silicone it doesn't absorb any water and has a high boiling point then check that the disks aren't warping (probably not but worth a check anyway) then check for leaks/air bubbles other that that get it checked asap
  14. I'm using these LED's for dash lights look cool but be careful Julian LED's are dependant on amperage not voltage. The ring LED's should be 3-4v and 20-35mA which is controlled by the type of batteries used in the keyfobs (internal resistances) in our case this needs to be controlled with an a resitor etc. The LED life will be drastically reduced if you don't use a current limiting resistor. Look up current limiting resistors and LED's there's a few websites with online calculators for the resistor value. If you use them for dash lights just put an adjustable resistor in and you can control the brightness.
