  5. Yesterday the wire came off of the charging indicator light and the engine ran for about 20 minutes (until the battery drained right down) without charging because excitation had not taken place due to the bulb being disconnected. When the wire was replaced the alternator began charging and all seems to be okay now, however my question is, could this have caused any harm to the alternator? Probably a numpty question, but I am going to Le Mans next week and don’t want to take any chances. Guy S B Lowe o *arrowup*o ZETEC Conversion here Edited by - Guy Lowe on 30 Jun 2008 11:32:43

  13. Thats the same starter Steve Racemettle are distributors of POWERLITE starters, EUROLEC are the manufacturers. Guy S B Lowe o *arrowup*o ZETEC Conversion here Edited by - Guy Lowe on 27 Jun 2008 10:29:45
  14. Doug Is your starter a POWERLITE like THIS ONE? If so can you tell me why the locating holes required welding up and redrilling? I have POWERLITE (the same that Racemettle supply) fitted to my Zetec with a Raceline sump and I am having problems with getting it to engage correctly 😔 Thanks Guy S B Lowe o *arrowup*o ZETEC Conversion here
  15. As Steve say's as long as your chassis has the "cruciform" front end, you can do it either way. There are two schools of thought on this, IMHO it is much easier to do it with the engine and gearbox intact, took mine out and put it back in on my own last week. easy peasy As Doug says, get the front of the engine as high as you can and at a steep angle, I use a LOAD LEVELLER. 16. Ian Last night I removed my NEW VDO oil pressure gauge with the ORANGE needle for the same reason you want to get rid of yours, between us we nearly have a full set of new one's with ORANGE needles 😬. I will bring my spare temperature gauge on Thursday evening and we can negotiate Guy S B Lowe o *arrowup*o ZETEC Conversion here
  17. Well lets establish a starting point. A NEW ONE is £42.50 + delivery, but that's got the wrong colour needle and won't match your others, soooooooooo......... Guy S B Lowe o *arrowup*o ZETEC Conversion here

  19. Thank you Brent I had just been giving the new clutch some stick on the BVR drag strip past Watchmoor Park. Then on to the RING for a couple of laps to make sure the alternative method I am using to set up the Webers has worked. Both passed with flying colours, roll on Le Mans Classic 😬 Guy S B Lowe o *arrowup*o ZETEC Conversion here

  24. As it says, it's only been used for 6 weeks, looks like new (Black case), don't like to take it to the tip. Located in GU15 but may be able to deliver localy. Guy Small Balls Lowe o *arrowup*o ZETEC converstion here
  25. Way off the most direct route from Ascot (Royal) to Farnborough and obviously heading for the Pirbright 'RING' for a quick blast before work . As it was 08.50 it would appear that these fully employed types not only have the luxury of paid holidays, sick pay, final salary pension schemes, health insurance etc. etc. but they don't seem to have to start work until nearly lunch time 😬. Nice day for it Mr Whitley Guy Small Balls Lowe o *arrowup*o ZETEC converstion here
