  1. I use the Champion C106 (or Halfords equivalent), on my Blacktop as I wasn't too happy with the capacity of the very short alternatives.
  2. Would it be possible for you to measure the centers of the mounting hole bolt pointsplease?
  3. As cr500dom says, fit a manual tensioner to maintain power at high revs. I fitted the Raceline one, expensive but a quality item.
  4. They will be fine, I used to go through all the bedding in procedure now I don't bother and have not noticed any difference.
  5. Black with lime green stripe, was it coincidence that a DPR trailer was 200 yards behind you?
  6. Either the old holes in the chassis rails were large or I was just jammy, but I hit all four spot on Thanks Brian
  7. I will stick it on the hose tomorrow and see what happens, thank you
  8. After 12 years I have decided to refit the heater, it has been in storage and looks to have a lot of rusty powder inside so I would like to clean it out. Because it's not on the car I can't flush it so I wanted to soak it, but what would be the best product to use, any ideas please?
  9. Sorry for my delayed reply, I have been working away all week. Thank you ncm, that is exactly the information I need, much appreciated
  10. Is there anyone who has an old recirculating heater who could measure the mounting bolt centres from the outer skin for me please?
  11. Sorry . . . . . . . 1990 S3 De Dion
  12. After 12 years I have decided to put my heater back in (age!) but since then the car has been re skinned so no mounting points. Am I right to assume that it was originally secured with 4 x 7/16" or 1/2" bolts through the box section chassis cross member rails above the foot well and there should be 4 holes there under the ali? If so would someone be kind enough to measure the centers of the forward holes, my heaters centers are 276 mm. TIA Guy
  13. Dave I cannot find anything in this months LF, can we book this yet? Cheers Guy
  14. These are a total waste of time, I made a pair and only used them once, no benefit whatsoever. p.s Christian why do you not reply to my messages? Guy

On my way to the Awesome meeting Ian, I saw you at the last minute. What was all that traffic about, Waitrose?
  18. It should always be vertical, horizontal can impede circulation. Guy
  19. Chris I wasn't happy with the Freestyle bar on it's softest setting, I have now fitted the standard ORANGE bar and it seems far better.
  20. I never bother to lock the crank I just get No.1 to TDC with the slots in the back of the cams in line, best to use a dial gauge through the plug hole on the top of no.1 piston for this. Then with the slots in the rear of the cams lined up you can slot a 4mm thick bar through the slots to lock the cams. Fit the belt and then re check TDC and make sure the locking bar still fits in the slots. Hope that makes sense.
  21. Here you go, as Ian says just cable tie it behind the other grille g
  22. I got some from B & Q and cut it to shape with tin snips.
  23. I don't bother, but whatever you do, don't use a compressor. I'll post a picture of my garage ceiling if you want to know why not too

    GPS speedo

I have been using the HOLUX GPSport 245 for three years now, very pleased, battery life is good even with the backlight on. A good feature is you can add a POI to your track whilst your driving, handy for remembering a place for future reference like a pub/cafe etc. And it's cheap.
