  1. the ones on the fireblade were not e marked when I last asked Graham
  2. how much do you want for the trailer Mark? Graham
  3. what dipstick are you using? If it's the one that screws in from the top it's c**p. I use a homemade dipstick to measure an amount from the bottom (9 or 9.5 inches I forget which). It's a bit of a PITA to carry round in the car though! Graham
  4. It's the side exit box, the rear box plus the interconnecting pipe. I will look in to prices. Graham
  5. anyonen interested in an R500 rear exit exhaust system? The rear box is the same as on the standard rear exit system. Graham
  6. IME the OP sender used on K engines is complete pants. I have had several that show the pressure going down over time and some that do other things. Changing the sender has cured it every time for me. Graham

    SLR Exhausts

you can take the box off and turn it on one end then the other. When mine was shagged you could hear the wadding slide from one end to the other. I bought a 7inch Caterham 'race' one to replace it which was nice and quiet. Almost quiet enough for Goodwood on a quiet day (and didn't involve a Turnip). Graham

  9. You should be ok on the stress front as you will be same spec as the SLR racers as far as I know. In that vein you could go for the same size wheels and tyres as are run on the race cars. Taken from the Caterham web site... Front: 6.5" x 13", Avon slick 7-20-13. Rear: 8.5" x 13", Avon slick 9-20-13. Graham
  10. I have been through several senders that seem to fail for no apparent reason. It's an easy change and not too expensive. Graham
  11. I have always used evo sick for this, works a treat (prob what is used originally) Graham
  12. thanks Rob, I'm on me way! Graham
  13. Does anyone know if the ferrules that go on the end of the k throttle cable are available anywhere and easy to fit? I effectively want to shorten the cable by 1/4 inch. I can't get the adjustment right. In the middle position it's too low (at the highest end of the adjustment), in the "nearest the driver" position it is too high. So I have put it back to the middle and want to put a new ferrule on the cable. Graham
  14. if you are trading in with Caterham and you are happy to negotiate, you could ask how much they would charge to change the 5 for a 6spd especially if they have a 2nd hand one. Bit of a long shot, but worth asking especially if you are standing there able to do the deal there and then! If you don't ask etc!

    HELP!

there seems to be 2 types of cutout wiring. That which cuts everything and that which only does the engine (and I assume fuel pump). No idea why!
  16. I can truly say that's excellent, I am a great believer in giving credit where it's due, so that's a good one for Arrowstar. Graham
  17. now there's a scary thought...getting a car back from Arrowstar...allegedly!
  18. Caterham (and rover) sell a very nice washer bottle for this purpose.

    Temperature

try taking the wire off the temp sender and putting it back on. This made a difference when I had the opposite problem. new temp sender fixed the prob. Graham
  20. That's easy for you to say! I have decided that with the amount of stuff I take to a track day, it takes me a couple of hours to get the car unloaded at the start and loaded at the end. I take tons of stuff and I want to take an extra set of wheels now as well! The other thing is that the coffers are empty having shelled out such a huge sum!! And yes I am naturally a tight-wad!!!!!
  21. I'm still looking round for a trailer, the smaller the better, but condition not so important. Ie I'm too much of a cheapskate to pay #1200 plus for a shiny nearly new BJ Minno! Tks Graham
  22. Does anyone know the approved method for getting the oil out of the standard fit Caterham oil cooler (which is fitted with conjunction with the Caterham dry sump) whenchanging the oil? Graham
  23. I would check the dimensions of the CR500s from the Cooper AVon racing web site. I don't know why, but i have the impression that their designation (205x55) doesn't represent their size well! To back this up, the rear R500 wheel is huge to fit a real 205 tyre to! Graham
