    R500 noise

I don't think standard R500s are any good at bedford. I did it with my old R500 with a rear-exit exhaust and the reverie air-box. Graham
  2. ignoring all these clever brains and their techy stuff (9.4v is low on cranking in my view), here is how I solved my clicky problem. I wired in a fly lead to the solenoid feed on the starter and ran it up to near the battery positive. Every time I got the click, I whizzed off the bonnet and used the fly lead on the pos terminal to start the car. It never failed to crank using the direct connect fly-lead. I then did the magic relay mod and never had nasty Mr Clicky again! Graham
  3. Thanks Phil, but I got Kevin's in the end. Graham
  4. Banner are good if you phone them up and ask for your local stockist..they seem to know! Graham
  5. why not sikaflex, it's made for that job? It works if properly done and is removable as well with a stanley. Graham
  6. I'd just bang another Banner in, they work very well. It seems too much hassle to bodge, I mean engineer another battery in unless you are on a serious weight saving kick. Graham
  7. Hi Phil, what condition is the screen and surround? Graham
  8. still looking... Graham
  9. you don't let your wife have Naim do you? Next thing you know, you'll be telling us she drivers your 7 as well! Graham
  10. earplugs makes it all superduper. Graham
  11. "sticky tappet" noise is very common in K series engines with hydraulic followers especially if the engine has been left for a while or if the oil is contaminated with coolant. Graham
  12. does it rev much more than a standard 1.6 supersport? 7400?
  13. indeed...early r300=rollers, later=vvc. I wouldnt expect either to have solids. Graham
  14. I'd be surprised if it had solids even if it was an early one with the roller barrels. They didn;t do too many of those before fitting the VVC IIRC. Graham

Thanks Martin, but they are a bit big for my poor old supersport. Graham

    ACB10 Tyres

Paul, do you have any tips on where to go to find FF racers getting rid of them? Graham

    ACB10 Tyres

Do ACB10's still get used in racing anywhere? It was good when they were used in caterham racing as you could get 2nd hand ones easily. Graham

    ACB10 Tyres

I was perfectly happy with my ACB10's on the road. Currently on CR500s as they are my wet wether tyres. I polished my ACB10s and am too tight to buy some more at the moment! Graham
  20. A series might do it (not a very useful comment if you haven't got one!). Graham
  21. yep, me too. Just calculate the distance required from your weight and dont bounce when standing on the bar! Graham

    ACB10 Tyres

ACB10's work brilliantly on my supersport on road or track. Luv em. Graham
  23. tried here? 2002 site
  24. the site lists all the bmw clubs and registers as well. Have you phoned and spoken to them? I did when I was looking to buy a 2002 a couple of years back. Jaymic themselves had a couple of unused 2002! Prob not what you are looking for they were £25k IIRC and suitable only really for collecting. I still hanker after a nice Tii! Graham
