  1. The metallastic bushes are easy to come by. However, it is a bit of a barsteward of a job unless you have a big press or are very good with sockets and a vice. I gave up on mine ay ho,e and got a man with a press to do it! Graham
  2. Chris, the advantage is that silicone hoses stay very pliable and seem to last a huge amount of time. Rubber ones seem to "set". Silicone -easy to get on and off, rubber- orrible. Graham
  3. Regin, it is standard Caterham kit. Probably made for them by Cheesemans in Woking. Graham
  4. got a pic of the rear box on my (ex) R500. Where shall I send it? Graham
  5. Steve it has alley cat wheels and 4 nuts a la the caterham. Both are done up to the same torque - I use 65 and a bit on track. Anyone any recommendations? Graham
  6. of course I meant Impact Wench!
  7. I have replaced the three main hoses (top, bottom and "J"). Are the others available for a k series car with heater? And where? Graham
  8. Also Donny are quite forgiving. They dont do static tests, so you have a chance to do something if they tell you that you are too loud on track Graham
  9. Decided I need a re-chargeable torque wench. Just not sure how big a one to buy. Going to use it mainly on wheels on Caterham and Radical. How were the bulk-buy ones? Thanks GRaham Edited by - gridgway on 7 Jun 2007 22:50:50
  10. I am of course open to offers! Graham
  11. Due to someone pulling out from my party, I have a spare £250 place for Spa with goldtrack this week. Anyone who wants to go let me know. Graham Edited by - gridgway on 29 May 2007 10:33:02
  12. mmmm, why would you do that? That's something you can only get wrong surely? CAn it be set to manual? That's what I would do. GRaham
  13. 1.6k supersport uses nothing. SLR used nothing in road driving and gallons on track R500 engine not together long enough to tell! Graham

  16. Darren, if you wanted to do it for 180, then you'd have a deal! Graham
  17. Wanted k series caterham wet sump in good condition, ie not worn to within a whisker of being transparent as mine is! Graham
  18. what a great looking car. Is it usable, or only to be taken out for fun runs? Graham
  19. Oliver Gardner was recommended to me on PH. See here. I spoke to him and took his initial advice which worked, so I didn't get to see him in action (or pay him any money). Feel a bit guilty about that. Graham
  20. excellent! Ordered some new foam to have another go. Will have to go to homebase to get a mixing thing to go in the drill. Thanks Graham
  21. I made a back booster from expanding foam a couple of months ago for my son to drive the caterham. We got it out today to finish the taping. When we tried it in the car it has clearly shrunk by a huge amount. When made it went to the side bolsters of the seat. Now there is a good inch gap on both sides. Can it have shrunk? The foam expanded ok but was a bit old. Graham

    R500 noise

Yep, I can vouch for the fact that the rear exit system does fit an R500. It has the extra box under the back which makes it a PITA to get to stuff under the back but works well for noise. I did some power runs to see what effect it had on oomph and from memory I got about 223 with it on and about 229 with just the side exit. Worth the loss of power for the noise reduction! Graham
  23. Just fitted new pipes for my apollo as one of the old ones was split. It looks like I didn;t manage to get the pipes done up tight enough on the sandwich plate as there is slight leakage! What a PITA. Graham
