  1. Would a small piece of paint protection film help? Graham
  2. And that's why I chose to buy a replacement head from Oily a few years ago when I was in a similar situation! The old Rover 25 hasn't looked back! Graham
  3. what you have a swan neck tow bar and a bumper on your 7? Cool Graham
  4. Have you got the cage on ok? Graham
  5. Are you sure it's leaking and not just more oil from your mega-blow-out? If it's the blue plate at the bottom of the dry sump, you shouldn't need goo, just a good o ring and patience to fit properly. Obviously when you take the plate off, the DS tank will empty out again! If you redo the plate, you'll need to establish if you have any oil left in before starting. Maybe you can take out the plugs, trip the inertia switch and turn the engine over on the battery to drain the sump into the tank and see how much you get. Then you can ensure you have enough in the DS tank before attempting a start. Graham Editted foor speeelin Edited by - Gridgway on 9 Jul 2009 11:03:24
  6. taking seconds to regain height cannot possibly be right, nor can it be solved with 13" wheels rather then 15". I'd say problem masked rather than fixed. Def investigate the dampers. Graham
  7. I mounted them to a small piece of ally and then used double-sided tape to stick them to the indicator pods. They were designed to be removeable, but they stayed there! Graham
  8. The other way to do this mod is to not bother to take the mfru relay out of the equation, but to use it to fire the new relay. Whoever did the "packages" of relay mods a few years back used that method. Worked well for me. Graham
  9. I had the caterham rear exit exhaust and the caterham/reverie airbox. I got on everywhere including goodwood quiet days. The exhaust cost 7bhp against the then standard R500 exhaust- 222 v 229 (old Dave Walker RR). I'm sure I don't need to say it, but if you change airbox, please make sure there is no chance of sucking a clip into the induction. Graham
  10. I don't think the fan(s) should kick in at 105. I thought it was more like 97. Graham
  11. Angus, how does your battery get discharged? You'll need to prevent that as it will kill most batteries. Graham
  12. Bit like my R500. Engine stopped and the belts had come off. But then so had the bottom pulleys and so had the flywheel when it came to it! Graham
  13. I presume you are talking about the feed to activate the solenoid rather than the *fat* feed to power the starter? Graham

    coco mats

There is the possibility of a bulk buy of coco mats here on another forum I frequent. I may be organising it. Anyone on here fancy coco mats for their caterham or other vee-hic-ule? Graham
  15. Then you should actually say it's for sale then. People aren't going to get very interested in a car that *might* be for sale. Possibly slightly high price. Free bump on me. Graham
  16. strange, that's the email address I used. It said something along the lines of how would you like me to pay?! let me know, you should have my email address! Graham
  17. Dave, sent you an email via your profile as I think blatmail is still down. Graham
  18. Dave, I'll take both if they are available still. Thanks Graham
  19. There are two brake pedals available. The norm is when having the non-race M/C you have the high ratio pedal which gives a more solid feel. maybe trying the low ratio pedal might help? Graham
  20. er that be an engine bay chassis diagonal I reckon. Graham
  21. In a low flying interview IIRC, Jez Coates said of the VXI something like "it was the least inspiring 7 we built"! Didn't Caterham put some VXIs out with reconned engines around that time? Or were they carbed? Graham
