  1. Neil, how does it exhaust the heat? I could well be interested. Graham
  2. do you have a lamda sensor? It's in the list, but has no price. Thanks Graham
  3. In relation to the question of price, I think it's a touch high. The thing about the car is that it will probably have a relatively small market amongst the buyers out there. You may get it, but you will prob have to be patient. I'd suggest lowering it to just below 10. If you don't mind me saying, IMO I'd get the problems fixed PDQ. It does lessen the appeal even though you have been up front with the problems. Nice looking car- good luck with the sale. Graham
  4. Nothing to do with me, but the 944 seems to create interest on here, so might be of use. porky Graham
  5. gulp, that's clever! Was the diff supported from above on a hoist? Graham
  6. I always keep the spacing washers from each side of the diff together IYSWIM. You still have to measure when you put it back in, but it should be centralised (if it was before of course!). Graham
  7. eek isn't that what plastic number plate screws are for? Graham
  8. pah, 15 years for me. I hear he's an expert in propshafts not fitting Andy! Graham
  9. Now I'm pretty sure that when I bought a used mini from the local mini dealer, the salesman said it had the TLC servicing thing for the remainder of 5 years. Now when it comes to servicing (inspection) it seems it hasn't. Does anyone know whether approved used minis all have the TLC? Or any of them as there is no mention on the webby now. And another thing. Apparently the rear brakes and disks need replacing. When told to bog off as it has only done 1k miles since we got it, apparently they don't need replacing until the light comes on! Not a great start to the famed mini experience. Would've bought a porsche if I'd realised I had to check brake pad wear myself before the service Graham And possibly in the wrong forum! Edited by - gridgway on 4 Mar 2010 23:07:33
  10. Whatever the donut performance it's way over-tyred at the front and probably the back. Graham

    aeroscreen or full screen? Graham
  12. I have always done it with the car on the wheels as I find it easier to inch the car forward. The car can just be move a little bit. When you move the crane it tends to jerk and then you get a swinging mass on the end! Each to their own. Graham
  13. I cannot believe for an instant that putting a can of solvent in a gearbox can be a good idea! Grahan
  14. Is that an MGF engine and not one in a caterham as standard?
  15. cheers oily, was it for 1600 or 1800? Graham
  16. back to the ecu, what is an x-power 135? Sounds suspiciously supersport to me. x-power was only poxy branding after all. Graham

    Linn CD12

I would be delighted to name the shop. It is Audience in Broad Street. Ask for Andrew who runs the shop, although Ian is good too! I'll brief Andrew that if anyone comes in and mentions the password (blatchat) then they should be treated accordingly and if he is a in a super good mood, given a discount! Regarding the DS. I did a change to replace my CD12 with a Klimax DS (now with upgraded power supply) at the same time as changing my speakers. But I have to say that the resultant sound is fantastic. I thought I would really miss my CD12, but actually, I don't give it a thought. Graham

    Linn CD12

Enrico, I have scouted about and located someone with a very nice Linn Unidisk 1.1 for sale for about GPB3k. Just for transparency (as they say in the modern world), I do have an interest in a hifi shop in Bath. The guy with the unidisk is upgrading to the Linn DS world and so is selling his unidisk. He is a long term customer and we sold him the unidisk originally. However, this is not blatant commercialism as I just know that he is selling his player privately and I could put you in touch! Let me know if it's of interest. Or anyone else come to that! Graham

Sorry Enrico, I ebayed it and it went to Japan (which was extremely nerve-wracking). Graham
  20. looks great to me. Tempted even though I have two other heli's that I can't fly! Graham
  21. latest lift news (as taken from the newsletter): The lifting method is hydraulic ram (electrically driven), with a locking mechanism. Prices ------- CIF Felixstowe $1380.00 which at the exchange rate at 9th Nov. is £827.This has now been reduced to £797. Further reduction will be made It's a long drawn out dance negotiating prices with the Chinese but we reckon 20 lifts will get it to £750 each. Add on dock chrages, transport and VAT and we should get them down to £930 delivered to collection points around the country. This lift sits on the floor and you drive the car over it. Then extend the 4 leags outwards to sit under the chassis (or body on non 7s).You will need a few planks of wood (or build concrete pads) to drive the 7 onto as the minimum height is 180mm. The lift is on steel wheels and is, therefore, mobile. The lift is CE approved so has been safety approved. If we can get the people together the total price should get down to about £890 which is a great price. If you look on ebay, the closest is this (£1300): Lift on ebay Graham Edited by - Gridgway on 18 Nov 2009 18:08:26
  22. have they always been like this? If the brakes work ok but you just want them to feel firmer, change the pedal! Graham
  23. When I had this, I found that changing the pedal from a low ratio to a high ratio pedal did the trick. There was nothing wrong with the brakes, just that the feel of the pedal going a long way put me off. I did all the bleeding things you have done and it made no difference at all! Change the pedal, all nice. Graham
  24. It probably stems from when Simon Lambert was encouraging all R500 owners to get R500 number plates. I think they were only £250 at the time. I got R500GPR which I think is still on the car. I think that the market will be limited to R500 owners with the initials ATC, so indeed limited as ATC sold his/her R500! And in danger of breaking the "don't criticise" rule, I am not sure that I "get" C9TRM. Or is that me being thick? GRaham PS hopefully, more guidelines than an actual code!
