    Hi Nigel The seq. gearbox for the R500 of my friend arrived yesterday from Quaife I have the same silencer on my 2.0 Duratec 220 bhp. It was freshly repacked and I was on a track last week. After 5 laps I was the only car that was asked to test noise 😳 @3,500 / 4,000 rpm the guy measured 87 db

    I've been driving a Caterham with aero and helmet in France for 5 years. I was controlled by the police a few times and this point was never discussed.

    I had the same symptoms on my R300 VVC. Everything was OK on the road, but on track I had this coolant issue. Changed the expansion cap, had the coolant tested... everything was OK. We removed the head and in my case, yes it was the early stage of a HGF. It was time to have the head ported by DVA

    The IPhone user interface is outstanding to view photos and there are a lot of apps, some helpful and some funny. But honestly I don't care viewing / managing photos on my mobile, watching TV and surfing on the internet for hours, nor playing. I need to be able to synchronize it with Outllok (agenda, contacts, tasks) to phone, including in my car using the Bluetooth connexion to read / write emails with my big [sometimes oily when under my Caterham] fingers to check something on the internet. Plus I find the virtual keyboard not as pratical as the real keyboard like those on a Blackberry or a Nokia E71. As a result I have a E71 and very happy with it, but I'm sure a Blackberry would do the job

    Thank you for your reply I asked the question because if it was a Ford part (for example) it's easier for us to by it directly to the local Ford dealer (here in France) compared to order it to UK.

    On my friend's Duratec R500 he is having a small coolant leak since the beginning. Today he tested the expansion cap and it is opening at 6 psi instead of 16psi... Does anybody know where from is coming this cap. Is it a Ford part ?

    Dave sorry for this late answer but: My car (Duratec R) is not ready yet, still a few things to fix before enjoying it and My friend's R500 Duratec has problems after problems. (the seq. gearbox has to be sent back to Quaife). Anyway, after serious tests on the R500 (has watts linkage) we had to reverse the rear arms (rotate it on 180°) and this way they are absolutely fine, no "rubbing". The front arms were an other story as we saw that on one side only the tyre was slighly touching the arm. The front of this front arm is like a T (the head of the T is the fixing point). We cut 5mm to have the arm closer to the chassis and now that's perfect too.

    I don't know what "trailing arms" are (I do my best to understand technical words I promise ). I guess it's either "radius arms" or "watts link arm". I can find out the clearance for both situation as my Duratec R has the radius arms and the R500 Duratec has the watts link arms. I need a few days as both cars aren't next to me.

    If you specify it's for a Caterham narrow chassis you receive it with the rolled edge alreday removed.

    My friend and I ordered 4 sets of those wheels and we are using the same Mich slicks. Yep, depending of the car, the wing stays may require to be bent a bit. He has a R500 Duratec.
