  1. Good news for you It means you have to find out the length before us 😬 Edited by - Catastrada on 2 Dec 2013 13:34:21
  2. Did they give you a delivery date for your Sadev gearbox?
  3. Peter, that's why I asked you to give me the lenghth of your input shaft when you wanted to join our Sadev bulk buy Phil at Road and Racce is thinking 171 should be fine but not 100% sure. I called SWR in UK, they are thinking that 171 should be fine but not 100% sure. I can't understand they cannot tell what they are ordering to Sadev for their customers. I understood they already sold several Sadev SCL82-17 for Caterham. I can't beleibe it's different each time. Edited by - Catastrada on 2 Dec 2013 13:18:18
  4. I just ordered a Sadev seq. gearbox and I need to spec. the input shaft. I'd like to avoid unfitting my engine/gearbox to measure it as the new box delivery is planned for end of february. The gearbox will be fitted to my 2.0L Duratec using the Raceline short bellhousing (as it is currently). The length of the bellhousing is 172mm (confirmed by Raceline). Raceline advised me an input shaft length of 176mm. The usual lenght I found on blatchat is 175mm. But Sadev is saying that usually people are ordering a 171mm input shaft for this application. According to Raceline 171mm is too short. Has anybody already ordered a Sadev gearbox (even with the regular 192mm bellhousing) and could tell me the lengh of the input shaft they specified?
  5. I have an AIM MXL dash and data logger. There is a software for data analysis. It has a GPS antenna plugged into it. It has a CAN conexxion with my Emerald ECU. A brake sensor is plugged into it. (A fuel level sensor is plugged too). AIM is selling a camera but it´s too expensive for me (£800). I rather bought an HD camera (with remote control, ext. mic, 12v input) and Racerender (cheap software that synchronize the data and the video). This is an of the result.

  7. At today's rate, the Quaife 7 speed costs € 5.907 compared to € 6.528 for the Sadev (both exc. VAT) I'm not convinced that having 7 speed is an advantage on a 2.0L Duratec.
  8. Hi Elie, I hope you are doing well Now the Quaife 7 speed is out of my list. If I go seq. I will buy a Sadev. Deicision is not taken yet.
  9. I have an RBC400 on my race car (2.0L Duratec 224 hp) and it's working fine. Engine was totaly cold when I did this . I recently bought the correct optimate too.
  10. My Caterham is a track day car only (not registered). I'm very pleased with my ccurrect Quaife qbe15z, 5 speed, h pattern, alloy main case and cover. My Duratec does not rev very high as the max power is at 7.300 (engine built by Ammo). To adapt my max speed I'm using 2 different rear tyres depending on the track . With Michelin 22/54/13 max speed is 217 km/h at rev limiter (ok for A majority of tracks like Spa, Magny-Cours...). it´s way too short for Dijon or Hockenheim. With Michelin 24/57/13 max speed is 230 km/h (like in Dijon, but slower in Spa or equal in the best condition as the straight line is going up). Acceleration is fine with both tyres. I don't have the torque value in my head, I need to check when back home (I'm currently on holiday). (Max speed values are coming from AIM data login using the AIM GPS antenna). 11. No hijack, as you know I'm very interested in all those information to make the right seq. choice for me.
  12. I guess you are using a 3,62 final ratio? What tyres are you using and what is your max speed please?
  13. I'm thinking moving to a sequential gearbox ( plus a flatshift solution). I know several people using the Sadev 6 but don't know anybody who is using the quite new (and cheaper) Quaife 7 speed. Would someone share his experience fitting and using this 7speedgearbox ? (My Caterham has an imperial small body with a 2.0 L Duratec producing 224hp).
  14. I have one (not for sale). I bought it when I replace the maincase of my gearbox (internals were already Quaife mecanisms, but maincase was the regular Ford T9) with alloy maincase + alloy cover (minus 3.5kg if I remember correctly). I thought this nylon gearknob was much lighter than Caterham one but if it is it's almost unoticeable. Mainly because the metal insert is heavy... I should find someone to have this insert made out of alloy... Edited by - Catastrada on 4 Jul 2013 14:38:56
  15. I would like one too please! YHM.

    mixing tyres

I don't know mountain bikes tyres and not very well road tyres for our seven. For slicks tyres that I try to understand a bit, the main parameter you try to manage is the temperature of the tyre. Different compound means different heat progression. If you have some power (let's say more than 200hp on our 7), you need wider rear tyres to help them stay within the heat values you know the tyres are working the best. If the rears are too thin, it will be difficult to keep them in the correct heat and then they will over heat. If they are too wide it will be difficult to warm them up. And I'm not sure it's the same for a mountain bike. (sorry for my beatiful English...) Edited by - Catastrada on 22 Feb 2013 08:46:32
  17. Personnaly I replaced the copper hoses with aero hoses. To bleed I remove the uprated calipers and place a piece of wood between the pistons.
  18. In that case nothing sppecial and esaybleed should help you bleeding your brakes properly. (With rear uprated brakes the calipers are horizontally fitted on the s3 although they were designed to be vertically fitted. As a result the position of the bleed nipples does not help to bleed properly. The calipers need to be removed and placed vertically for effective bleeding. If you don´t do that, you can bleed 5 times and continue to have a spongy brake pedal).
  19. Are your rear brakes standard or uprated ?
  20. If you are 100% clean you will see that I sent you a BM before Pendennis post but added a "YHM post" when I saw it. Anyway, I'm sure you will do your best.
  21. Did you get my email regarding the bag tank part exchange against a normal tank ?
  22. Very interested in the rims + rear wings but how much to you want?
  23. After some more searches it seems that front pagid pads are ES20349.
