  1. Hey Epimetheus, you are a king! Thank you for your help 😶‍🌫️
  2. Thank you for your feedback Pendenis. With ET24 the rear wheels are already filling the arches. See here and here Any technical reason to explain ET12? Edited by - Catastrada on 25 Nov 2009 20:07:32
  3. "Munster & Riesling" is the region in France where Munster (the cheese) and Riesling (the wine) are produced, close to the german border. Thank you for your very kind offer but unfortunately I need to decide without trying your wheels. And yep the Michelin I'm having are 16/53/13 and 23/57/13 (Formula Renault 2.0). I measured more than half an inch each side, that's why I think it should fit. You mentionned "230/570R13s on 9" rears (that are fine)" but you did not precise the offset ? 4. I'm about to order new wheels : 7x13 ET24 front and 9x13 ET24 rear. Michelin slicks will be fitted on them. I've already checked on a track that those slicks are not rubbing at all. For my test they were fitted on CC 8 spokes wheels, 6 ET24 front and 8 ET24 rear. My conclusion is that there is space enough for those tyres. As a result I guess that same tyres, on wider wheels with the same offset (ET24) should be OK no ? (I checked visually that there is more than half an inch space each side of the wheels, I mean near the rear springs, near the rear ARB, near the front wing stay...) Do some of you have experience with 7'' front and 9'' rear, and can you confirm ET24 is the right offset ?
  5. Phil, What sizes and offset have you bought? Edited by - Catastrada on 25 Nov 2009 12:34:09
  6. Jeremy, yep I received it yesterday evening. Edited by - Catastrada on 25 Nov 2009 07:16:17

    offset

For record purpose I add the weight of the CC 8 spokes wheel (without tyres). 6x13 => 5.2 kg 8x13 => 5.4 kg here a pic of my Duratec R with the "big" MIchelin slicks fitted Edited by - Catastrada on 23 Nov 2009 13:24:01

    offset

We fitted the Mich slicks tyres on CC 8 spokes wheels (6 front and 8 rear). There is no trouble at all. To be sure I did 15 laps yesterday with those wheels fitted on my Duratec R and no rubbing problem. (Set up need to be adjusted: camber front from 0 to max, rear Dedion ears from 0,25 to 2°. Michelin is suggesting 4.5 to 5° camber). The tech spec from those slicks mention 5.5'' to 8'' for the front wheels and 8.5'' to 11'' for the rear wheels. I'm still wondering if I go for 6.5'' / 8.5'' or 7'' / 9''...
  9. Thank you for your reply Adrian

    offset

Thank you Rob Today we will try to fit the Mich slicks on CC wheels (6 ET24 / 8 ET24) to check if the tyres are rubbing, and if not to estimate the right offset for the rears. 0,5''= 12.7mm => 6.35mm each side => offset to avoid inside rubbing could be 24-6=18. offset

If we exclude the mentioned tyre sizes, what should be the offset of 8,5'' rear wheels please? Edited by - Catastrada on 17 Nov 2009 14:16:12
  12. I'm after a race aeroscreen (in perspex), RHS. I guess the design was recently modified and now this aeroscreen does not need a flange to be fitted. This is this lattest design I'm interested in.

    offset

I need to buy a new set of wheels for my Duratec R (narrow chassis) for slick tyres. For several reasons the tyres are Michelin (Radial) 16/53/13 front and 23/57/13 rear (Formula Renault tyres). I should go for a set of compomotive CXR, 7'' front and 8,5'' rear (ongoing bulk buy). Could those who have fitted CXR 7' and 8,5'' tell me the offset of their wheels please?
  14. May be tempted by 1 set too. 7 front and 8,5 rear. My main concern is about offsets: Front: to be sure the wheel won't touch the wing stay Rear: to be sure the wheel won't touch the AP caliper (uprated rear brakes). Can anybody tell me if those offsets are OK: 7x13 ET20 front and 8,5x13 ET24 rear ? Edited by - Catastrada on 16 Nov 2009 11:32:00
  15. Does anybody knows if the cat bypass gives better performance (more power? more torque?) to the R500 Duratec?
  16. One of my best friend is waiting for his new R500 (planned for August). (Could be the 1st LHD new R500). Does anybody know the engine oil specification for this 2L engine?
  17. Last year I bought an Archos 604 30Go + the Archos Cam. The quality is OK for me. The issue is that the hard drive does not like vibrations at all. Sometimes it stops working, sometimes the recorded file is "unreadable"... At the end I gave up (it's now a great mulltimedia hard drive in our house) I bought a pov 1.5 last week. I had the chance to test it last friday during a track day and it's perfect for me. There a several accessories to attach it, a nice bag to carry it. Nice piece of kit. Finally: Obviously the quality is lower than a Sony kit, But enough for me, Cheaper than the sony, Includes a remote controll (very useful) The recorder has a screen to know where the camera is pointing Waterproof Lots of usefull accessories I've bought it here.
  18. Plus the C400 has some other equipments "as standard" brake bias valve uprated rear breaks Quick steering rack
  19. yep, I've seen it before I posted but as it's the only reference that says "S3,SV" (including all other front ARB for S3 Wide Track) I wonder if this is true.
  20. Looking at CC web site I don't see specific front ARBs for SV chassis. Does the SV chassis use the same front ARB than S3 Wide Track does?
