  1. You might want to try and get in contact with the South African Caterham agent, they have been building 2zz-GE powered SV's for a little while and should have answers to your problems.
  2. My problems were limited to the joints on the shafts - not the shafts themselves
  3. There are companies out there that will produce custom cages for sensible money - try talking to Custom Cages as a starting point - usually costs less than the official factory cage. Cost is not the most important factor when purchasing safety equipment....

  6. I've been running an EWP for a year now - I don't run a controller, the pump runs flat out the whole time. I've moved the thermostat into the top hose of the radiator to keep the pump in the primary cooling circuit. This setup appears to work without any significant problem even in very high ambient temperatures - I agree with most of what Bob says, I monitor the temp gradient across the engine to check the cooling system performance and typically I'm looking at less than 5 degrees difference - I see two major benefits from the system. Constant load - there is a constant electrical load on the engine, one less thing to accelerate when you blip the throttle. Cool down - more importantly I can continue to run the cooling system after the engine is shutdown I would stay well away from the electronic speed controller setup as there is the potential for significant engine damage - the system was designed and tested on iron block V8's with massive thermal inertia and large internal coolant capacities - the K-series only has an internal coolant capacity of around a liter.
  7. Are you sure it is the damper? if you overtighten the trailing arm/watts link then you can immobilise the suspension fairly effectively.

  11. I've just had them complete an EVO4 conversion on one of my engines - the bill was less than expected, and the job was completed on time - can't say any more so far as the engine is still in a shipping container for the moment.
  12. Peter, They look like cheese graters, but are surprisingly comfortable even for long distance driving - on track the upper body support is much better than any other seat that I've tried. They look like these http://www.kirkeyracing.com/new46600.gif but are cut off above the shoulder and don't have any of those soft cloth covers. I can't take any pictures of my car as it's still on a ship somewhere, won't be here until the end of next month. Not sure about the walking upside down bit - but it's nice to have the days getting longer and the weather getting warmer as summer approaches. Miraz
  13. I'm not on the main sevens list at the moment.... The seats I'm using are 20 degree lightweight seats cut off above the shoulder - from memory the driver's seat is a 17.5" width and the passenger is 16".

  15. The subaru diff is smaller and lighter than the Sierra diff - ideal for a seven - the viscous center is not ideal, better to fit a Kaaz plate LSD center to the Subaru housing. This should get you all the benefits of the ZF plate LSD fitted by Caterham in a smaller, lighter package - it should also run considerably quieter.
