  1. As you may have guessed it is not possible to change the final drive on the six speed box!?
  2. Thanks - Sounds like it is just the light in my headlamp switch that has gone then - pleased it is not something worse!? Cheers. Garth
  3. Could someone please let me know which of the switches have back lights shining when the main lights are switched on - I am sure more of mine used to be backlit compared to when I took it out last night? ☹️ Thanks in advance Edited by - Garth on 14 May 2013 10:38:15
  4. Mine was done by HWR mentioned earlier in the thread - be very happy to talk to you about it - why not e-mail me and we can pick it up from there?
  5. I would try and get a drive in them - are you going from a 125? I am loving my scary 200bhp upgrade

    MBE 967 ECU

pandjack - could you e-mail me your e-mail address - I cannot seem to attach a photo via the blatchat contact e-mail. My e-mail is garth.theron@btopenworld.com in case you have problems via blatchat!

    MBE 967 ECU

I have just taken an MBE ECU out of my 3 year old Sigma - It has the number 36L038A on it with a serial number 00050365, so not sure if it will be ok for you? Would like to find it a new engine for a very reasonable cost! will mail you a photo. Garth
  10. I took my car up to HWR and picked it up with all the work done - HWR prefer to use an OMEX ECU, so changes to the wiring loom. They would have just done the work on the engine so that I could have kept my MBE ECU, but I did not want the hassle of sorting that out separately! As far as I know HWR only do the 200 conversion, but it is fantastic for around the £7k mark without any extras (mechanical gauges etc. I had done too!).
  11. See the car posted in the for sale section today?
  12. Oil pressure on my Sigma always been good, does drop quite low at idle but as soon as revs build so does the oil pressure. I have had to replace the sender which failed early on. Unlike the other contributors here, my rev counter does 'twitch' and has done ever since new (self build). CC at Dartford told me this was common and not a problem!

    Which engine?

Huw - try calling Stuart on 01295 788445 or 07712 530858 - he may not have received your mail as he was always pretty quick to respond to my e-mails and we exchanged quite a few! Garth

    Which engine?

Have no experience with the K, but as has already been said the greater capacity will enable one to extract more power out of it than a 1.6! I have a Sigma 125 which I have had upgraded by HWR to just over 200bhp (on the dyno). Have not driven it yet and we will have to wait a few years to comment on reliability? HWR say it is a good little engine and should not have reliability problems. There are now several people I know of who are running 195 to 200 bhp Sigmas and so far so good with reliability when looked after properly and not revved to silly numbers! Not sure how the upgraded Sigma is going to feel compared to the original version which I used to thoroughly enjoy - not sure that has helped any!?
  15. I was very impressed with the set up at Premier Power, but it is worth bearing in mind that there are other good engine builders out there too. HWR also have a very good track record and there are several 7ers who have had engines done by HWR over the years with very good results. My little Sigma got 202bhp and 140 lb/ft (190 N.m) on the dyno after its HWR rebuild. Not back on the road yet because of an issue with the gearbox! HWR have been a pleasure to deal with and very open about what they were doing! *thumbup* for Jeff at HWR
  16. I also simply used the fluids that CC recommend! I took my Sigma through IVA 3 years ago and they failed it on the brakes. Tester did an emergency stop and it pulled to the one side quite a lot (I personally think he helped it turn a little as he wanted to find fault!) I spent forever stripping the brakes, re-bleeding etc but could not find anything wrong. When I took it back for the re-test I took the long way there and spent a good deal of time bedding the brakes in and they were fine.

    DINITROL

I used dinitrol 3125 Cavity wax in Aerosol cans for what it is worth! Bought from REJEL Also used their high temp wax to cover bolt heads etc. has worked a treat for 3 years so far! Good luck with the build.Garth
  18. HWR just told me my little Sigma 125 is now a Sigma 202 😬with 138 torques(lb/ft) 😬 after his rebuild. Cannot wait to see how it feels to drive! *wink*. Peak power and torque at 7800. Peak power used to be at about 5500 rpm! Lots of oil changes coming up!
  19. Jack can you send me details of the door openers?
  20. Mark - no offence taken . Will speak to jack about a garage opener. Am just about to start designing my new garage! Cheers Edited by - Garth on 4 Feb 2013 21:05:54
  21. It says 'anti-stonechip' on the tin - always do what it says on the tin!! I guess the 'protection' was unnecessary! 😬 Could be used under the wings I guess - but adds to weight!! 🤔
  22. Hi Jack - have just sent you mail. garth
  23. Martin - if you mail me I will remember to look up the figures tomorrow and send them to you!? Garth
