  1. This is what Phil at Road and Race said I should use when he fitted a Titan LSD for me recently. Says it is what he uses in his!
  2. I have mechanical oil pressure and mechanical oil and water temp on my Sigma (also fitted a low oil pressure warning light!) - all work a treat (although the warning light has never come on so not sure if that is working!?) - also used Racetech. Away for a week, but let me know if can be of help on my return.
  3. Arrived safely thanks Jonathan. Garth
  4. If you are based up North try Jeff at HWR...
  5. Postage for me please Jonathan. Thanks. Garth
  6. Or this... wheels or luggage or a combination?
  7. I will have it please Jerry. Thanks Garth
  8. Hi Jonathan Could I please have 2 tubes and two bags please. Thanks. Garth
  9. Does anyone know what road and race think about these LSD's?
  10. Hi A10ROX - sent you mail... Garth
  11. Hi Mike Interested in the Aeroscreen with mirrors - do you mind sending me a few photos? E-mail is garth.theron@btopenworld.com Thanks Garth
  12. I use Royal Purple oil (as recommended by the HWR who rebuilt my Sigma!). Royal Purple say their oil (10W-40) should operate between 82 and 104 degC to give optimum protection. What I have not yet got a good handle on is how the oil temperature will vary in different parts of the engine - I measure my oil temp at the oil filter and it does get above the 104 when pushing hard on track days (am amazed how quickly the temp drops when dropping the revs a bit!), but would like to understand this better!?
  13. try the mini forum - www.theminiforum.co.uk - my son has bough half of his mini on here!!?
  14. It was a very simple issue in the end! - solved with a decent pair of glasses so I could see more detail! The end of the accelerator cable housing had popped out of the cable stop 'socket' and was sitting on the edge of the 'socket' which meant the throttle was actually open a little! Interesting thing to me was how that little opening was enough to produce so many revs as when I looked at the butterflies they appeared only very slightly open which I assumed was the normal resting position for idling! Thanks
  15. Will have another good look - thanks
  16. Tried disconnecting battery - started in usual lumpy way and idled roughly for a few seconds as soon as I gave it a little throttle revs shot up and I had to switch off the ignition - TPS sending incorrect messages to ECU? Or ECU doing someting silly - still not sure how revs can climb so high without butterflies opening up?
  17. Why is there a new subject tiltle for each post on a thread??? Am I doing something wrong?
  18. Thanks will give that a try - I am certainly confused!!
  19. Tried to start her today and the following happened - battery good and engine turning over vigorously but sounding dead - odd poof! Eventually started with lots of pumping of the accelerator and then the revs shot up to about 7000 before I managed to switch off. Tried starting several times and the same thing happened as soon as engine took revs shot up with throttle allegedly off! Did not want to leave it running to see if the revs would tail off - especially when cold! Checked throttle cable etc not sticking and all seems fine! Running on Jenvey throttle bodies with an Omex ECU. Checked the butterflies were responding to accelerator movement and all ok - could not check on my own what the butterfies were doing once it started! Seems odd that it could rev so high with the butterflies closed? Is the TPS messed up? - but even if the ECU was pumping in more fuel how could it rev like that without more air? Last blast was Llandow track day and drive home the folowing day and all was runimg normally when parked up. Only issue I had on the track day was that the oil temp was running a little high? Any ideas welcome thanks
  20. Hi Mark - I am interested - went through two back tyres at the Super Car Sunday event a few weeks ago! Do you have any idea how they compare to the CR322's which I destroyed? (apart from the slightly lower profile!). Not so old they are going to 'blow up' on me are they?! Probably coming up to Northampton in next week or so - so could collect then if you can wait a while? Garth
  21. Hi spent a good deal of time looking into this for my Sigma upgrade - send me mail if you would like to chat about it - also be welcome to have a drive in my 200bhp Sigma as you are not too far away...Garth
  22. Hi Roger - I converted to 4 pot callipers last year after about 7000 miles on the original 2010 brakes - there were no problems with them and I have them stashed away somewhere if you think they are 'new' enough for you let me know and I will dig them out. Guess I will be looking for £150 for the pair. Garth
  23. Garth

    Omex 600

But does it not only regulate below a certain rev limit - so can help with emissions?
  24. How old is your battery? I had starting problems on my Sigma recently - did various checks with a voltmeter and alternator was fine! Seems the battery had just had enough! Jump started it and it turned over fast and started just fine. New battery and been fine for 2 months!
