  1. So may great memories of those Black Forest roads 😬
  2. Hi All My Black Forest trip has ended with an Italian reversing into my front wheel at Calais hard enought to bend my wing stay and rip crack the cycle wing. It's no longer bonded to the wing stay at the bottom. It was hard enough to push me a foot sideways. So rip the wing off and drive the 2hrs home from Dover, or is it recovery time? I can't see any suspension damage, but it don't feel right as I put it on the ferry? Edited by - ChrisC on 9 Aug 2014 20:08:58
  3. My 150 with cat and track day silencer has no problems with Bedfords static and drive by. It did read a 112db once when a pop/bang happened during a test 😬
  4. All the wires are black so bypassing is going to be tricky (by design). ☹️. Double check your master switch then call the breakdown cover of your choice ☹️
  5. I think your going to have to see what the ECU is thinking, seeing to get to the route of the problem. Your going to need to get the MBE lead (or purchase one from SBD). You will be able to connect a laptop and take it for a drive. You will be looking for sensors that are repotted as missing or the values that look strange. Sorry
  6. If you want the 150 kit, you are going to have to source the Caterham Throttle Bodies second hand. I had a set fitted last year, along with the rest of the components new this year. If you want the best from your 150 make sure you have a carb balancer and the MBE lead for the laptop for proper and accurate setup. Hope this helps Chris.
  7. Ok I am going to have to pass, my 2011 has the updated hubs, I am assuming yours doesn't, being pre 2003.
  8. With the SVC headlight sub loom, they come the the Econseal pins and seals attached. You will only need to remove the old pins from your old connector, if done carefully no additional parts would be needed. No special tools to refit the econseal pins, the loom is as supplied with a new headlight from Caterham.
  9. You can get replacement sub looms made to Caterham spec from SVC for about £5 plus postage. You may need to call because they are not listed on their website. Edited by - ChrisC on 11 Jul 2014 12:43:23
  10. Have you tried calling Caterham Parts for an ETA, the website can be a little out of date?
  11. Ratchet ring spanner, put on, don't remove until undone. Simples.
  12. Best tool I ever purchased from Halfords years ago was a bit set (including a 10mm Hex Bit) designed to be used with a ratchet ring spanner (8mm and 10mm) included in the set. The bits have O rings on them to prevent the from falling out of the spanner. It way slimmed that an Allen Key, so have no trouble removing the gearbox plug. Never seen it again in halfords, if I did I think I would buy a spare it's that useful.

    Rover V8

Power the fuel pump via a fly lead, or earth the fuel pump relay via a fly lead, until the fuel pressure is there enough to start the car.
  14. Does the current race master cylinder upgrade have the same design?
  15. Front pads rattling in the calliper maybe? Does the noise go when you feather the brakes? My old four pots did that.
  16. My original Ford part was manufactured by Bosch, and had the Bosch part number 0258006599 stamped on it. I recently purchased one from eBay using that part number for my cat bypass pipe, which was a perfect fit, had the correct connector and functioned perfectly. You can get cheaper alternatives, or more expensive ford branded. Edited by - ChrisC on 3 Jul 2014 22:13:16
  17. halfords still stock them if your in a rush.
  18. In which case the Pipercross one is the C0190, but its more expensive than the K&N.
  19. Also can it just be cleaned? Assuming its not damaged.
  20. Isn't it just a Pipercross filter? like these here? Hope this helps Edited by - ChrisC on 27 Jun 2014 12:11:23
  21. PS you don't have a location, willing to help if your local.
  22. My 150 will run like a bag of spanners if its not setup exactly as per the recommendations, which is all throttles drawing 4-5Kg/h at 950rpm (+or- 50rpm) with the ECU reporting 1.04v from the TPS. You really need the easymap software and lead to get it spot on, but when you do the 150 is a little honey. Pulling clean in 5th from 1200rpm without hesitation and perfectly steady idle.

    Radtec question

I have swapped a sigma (plastic) for a radtec replacement and it was a straight swop. My car is an ex Academy S3, but I didn't have any cowl or shroud fitted. The rad is much thicker than the original, which makes it a tight fit to the nose cone, so I am not sure what being it a cowl would bring.
  24. Speak to TSK, if your wing was painted in the first instance. They can also repair damaged paintwork, so you might not need a new wing, just a respray.
