  1. Urgently need the cash, hence very low price of £6k for '91 red 1.8 supersprint. Roger King engine, recently rebuilt. Call 07814 078050 for more information. In good condition but needs some work for upcoming MOT in July. As I say, need the cash and it's a cash only deal.
  2. What do I need to ask for when replacing the battery. I'm nowhere near the car at the moment so would appreciate hugely fast response. thansk Chalres
  3. Steering. I think I've found that my car understeers very badly such that when turning into a roundabout, with power, my car would rather pitch off into the nearside lane with the old lady in the Rover 25. Question: do cars with thinner tyres steer better (ie, go where you point them) than those with, say, 16 inch HPCs. Or are they 15inch? Can't remember. Advice, thoughts gratefully received. Charles
  4. Hello all These three things I seek In order one, three or two. It matters not, the order, Any one will do. Cahlres 07814 078050
  5. And as for the rest of you diesel-touting jokers, I should just like to say that we are not at home to Mr Tease. Cahlres 😬
  6. Your faith, Mr Aves, is touching. No, really, I never had you down as a gallows-humour sort of a guy, but I was clearly wrong.... All hallowed be the faithfull. Amen. Chalres
  7. Who be Peter T? And thanks, btw, for your replies. If I leave my number here will someone call? 07814 078050 ps. oddly, my car is running very well on Optimax (thank you Roger K). In fact, as I pull in to a gas station, the first thing the car says is 'watch that black nozzle now boyo.' Cahrlse
  8. Okay, so I was supposed to have sold the car. But owing to a number of difficulties in the sales process, namely: 1. Urgent arm-cramp when faced with returning phone inquiries 2. Numeric amnesia, specifically of numbers starting 07... 02... or 01. (Oddly, 09 numbers aren't, thankfully, affected). 3. Shakey Head Tut Tut Syndrome: in which regular drivers shake their heads and murmer stuff like; 'ooooh you'll never buy another you know' or 'me hernia's causing me farting reet bad'. The one I liked best was the the unsubtle yet effective; 'So you're selling out are you? [Very Long Pause] Who was that Chalres guy anyway....?' To the point. I changed an alternator myself - yes, really - and damn proud I was too. Except I think I put in a wrong 'un. It's a Bosch instead of a Ford (XR3 mk 2?). You see, I 've got a bit of wire left over and it sparks quite a lot when it touches the chassis. Costas Disgustingdigitopolous, the guy off whom I bought it (his gold tooth glinted, I swear, as I handed over the loot) seemed to think that this bosch number would work. But I don't think so. Which alternator for an old Kent Xflow should I be using. And where can I get some moderately priced HT leads? And what's the best deal I could get on a 4 to 1 Caterham comp exhaust? Thanks, and welcome back to me, if I may be so bold. Chalres
  9. Recently rebuilt engine by Roger King, 30k, 'post office red', clamshells, 16 inch alloys for sale. All new wings, cloth seats, de dion. Quick sale sought. Please call or email me. ckh@beeb.net 07814 078050 Thanks, Charles
  10. The Leyland-Daf 46/50, 40 inch poly-coated 'central punched' is pretty good. Its only downside is that the sticky plastic logo falls off after a month or two. Doesn't fit a 7, though. Not even an SV. Cahlres Director Rumble The Third 14 September 2003
  11. If any of you have up-graded I'd be interested in your old system, especially if it's tape rather than cd. Please call thanks Chalres 07814 078050

  14. Dear all, needed for gardening stuff (hardwearing) and two children (even more hardwaring). Don't mind age, condition, so long as: it's running it's not a Skoda it's got MOT and tax it's considerably less than £1000 Thanks Chalres ckh@beeb.net 07814 078050 Event Director The Rumble 2002 07814 078050 www.therumble2002.co.uk
