  1. Yes, was us... gave the obligatory flash and wave
  2. I'm guessing its a standard Bilstein unit. The car is a 1990 dedion, but with the fitted with the Caterham widetrack front. It looks like the front spring damper assemble as advertised on the Caterham parts website. However, all I need is the shock. Having looked on the Bilstein website, I can't find anything that looks similar. Thanks
  3. Unfortunately my front near side shock appears to have given up the ghost and is leaking oil. I'm trying to identify it so I can get a pair of replacements. The body is 1"3/4 diameter, with numerous circlip positions for the adjustable platform. The shock is 14"long open, and 12" closed with a 12 mm piston rod. Ideally like for like replacement would be good, but happy to try anything else that would fit. Oh, and I need to fit them Easter weekend.... thanks

  5. Just about to dispose of one of our company cars, and though I'd offer it here first Its a red VW Passatt Highline, with black leather interior. It has the 140ps engine in it, and a towbar. Its on a 58 plate, is in pretty good condition, and runs well. The car is based in Sheffield. We have been given a part exchange figure of £5250, so anything over that secures the car. Photos availiable via e-mail.
  6. My X-flow wears a SPR rocker cover as well. When I was lookign at purchasing my 7 (gulp - 7 years ago 😳) I spoke to Roger king at length about the engine. He assured me at the time it the engine was "very solid, and built to a nice spec" I since added a drysump, and a couple of other bits I have to say that whilst I have owned the car, the engine has been pretty much faultless. (About 4 years ago, I had the bores "glazebusted" and new rings fitted as it started to smoke a little on the overrun - been fine since) Although I never thrash it from cold, I am not nescessarily the kindest person to it, and tend to drive it to within an inch of its life. The car did the USA2005 trip with not so much as a hiccup, and many of you will have seen it on trackdays as well. On 2 independant rolling roads, (after settign up & tweaking the carbs) it has produced around 185bhp, and it seems to keep up with 200bhp K-series caterhams pretty well (until I have to stop for fuel 😳) At full chat on track I reckon its comfortably into single figure mpg!
  7. Cheers. A photo would be great
  8. I have the stack dash, and have previously mounted the sensor to count the prop bolts. (I made a specific mount to go round the chassis brace there) Unfortunately, this weekend the mouting bracket got destroyed (along with the sensor ☹️ ) by sme rogue road debris. So rather than re-machine a new mount, I thought I might go with convention, and copy Caterham. Where is the normal mounting position, and is there a specific mount for this? Does anyone have any pictures of the sensor in position? Thanks, Chris
  9. Del, You should have mail. Chris
  10. Last chance........ Otherwise the car goes in part ex on monday.
  11. I look after our company vehicle fleet, so as usual when we got a decent offering I pop it on here so you can take advantage of the trade in price if you wish..... This time round we have a September 2005 (55 Plate) VW Passat Saloon S with the 140 BHP TDi engine. The car has done about 57,000 miles and is in pretty good condition. The only mark on it is the electric handbrake button which is noticeably worn! It is silvery grey, and is standard spec. Usual 50+mpg - would make a decent tow car etc. Just been offered £7,000 for it in PX against a new one which we will be buying and taking delivery of early September. Auto-trader suggests between £7995 and £8500 with the VW forecourt price around £8995. I can take photos if requested. The deal is the car must be paid for and collected on the morning we take delivery of the new car, otherwise it goes to the VW dealer.
