  1. For sale due to (forced!)retirement; Woodford single axle trailer. 10ft bed, 1000kg load capacity, galvanised steel construction. Only 2 sprint events with my Mallock since purchased earlier this summer at a cost of over £800. Perfect for a hillclimb/sprint/trackday Caterham etc. Very easy to manouever and will fit a standard single garage. Excellent (as new) condition. I'm in Matlock Derbyshire. 01629 583881 £500 Sorry no offers. Cheers Chris.
  2. Any Type A helmet will have passed the same rigorous tests as any other, and should offer the same protection whether it costs £400 or £60. I have just bought (today actually) a nice lightweight SpadaType A helmet for £99 (haggled down from £135) and am quite happy to continue competing in Speed events with it, as a replacement for my old AGV. Of course you could spend £400 on the latest fashion Ikon...
  3. I bought a pair a couple of years ago and wish I hadn't wasted my money. They were (IN MY OPINION) total crap. I gave them away... I must stress that this is only my opinion, and other users may think that they're very good! But; in the world of sports/competition dampers you definitely get what you pay for. Ask Ammo... Chris.
  4. Ammo, Even more off topic. I was recently flicking through Mick Walker's excellent book on Moto Guzzi V-Twins when.... You can guess what I'm about to say! Respect. Chris. Edited by - cdg on 30 May 2003 23:59:32
  5. My all steel X/Flow was 108kg complete with dry sump pump, clutch, and carbs. Chris.
  6. I hope you're going for the monster offset-valve version!
  7. Tim, High ratio roller rockers will work very well with an A6 cam. I think you will see an improvement in both torque and power. With a similar spec. cam, high ratio rockers etc. my old 1700 made 175bhp (dynoed) on 45Webers, and 180bhp on TBs. You won't have any installation problems as the overall lift will still only be 11.5mm (similar to a 254) Trust Dave...if he thinks it should work, it probably will! Cheers, Chris.
  8. I think a 100cu in Revtech would be ample...
  9. Paul, How about a GSXR1100, so beloved of streetfighting headbangers? Just put one in my Mallock Clubmans car. Here's a pic of a similar (although oil-cooled ) car. http://www.cwgsy.net/private/bugs/ I have devised a a way of using the Harley engine (should you still want to) without it's primary drive and gearbox, via a shaft to a rear mounted transaxle. Email if you want to discuss. Chris.
  10. Paul, You may get a more balanced view on here; http://uk.groups.yahoo.com/group/bike-engined-cars/
  11. Paul, V Max would work. Been done before in various 3 and 4 wheelers. Shaft drive which lends itself to a car application, although you're going through 2 bevel drives which can sap a little power. Good compromise between high revving in-line multi and H-D? Sounds sh*t-hot too! Chris. (only one perforation- me eardrum!)
  12. The main problem would be the transmission. H-Ds are belt primary drive to a transverse gearbox which also incorporates the clutch. Belt (or chain) to a rear pulley or sprocket. So you either have the belt secondary drive going down the transmission tunnel to a rear pulley on the diff, and independent rear end(very like a bike engined single seater) or you use a different gearbox. Problem with the latter would be the provision for a clutch. Problem with the former would be a narrow footwell on the passenger side. Actually, sounds like a bloody good idea!... You'd need plenty of airflow around the cylinders though as it's air cooled. Chris.
  13. Paul Ivey Race Engine Components IS "REC". Give Paul a ring on 01902 373770, quoting part number, and he'll send some off on receipt of your cheque. Chris.
  14. Just as an aside... The Zetec in my mates Chevron sports racing car has just made 257bhp on the engine dyno. It's a stock bottom end apart from forged Accralite pistons, and uprated bolts, but obviously with a heavily modified head. Midrange is VERY strong. Redline is only 7500rpm. Built by Solus. Chris.
