  1. Thank you all for you feedback and links. I think in my case it's over revving the clutch when changing down on track that's probably done it. I've never learnt to heal and toe so I guess it's time to learn to reduce the risk and move away from my current gear-change and breaking ways.
  2. Cheers but the why is more important than what to replace it with, at this point.
  3. For the 3rd time in 38,000 miles I'm having a clutch issue on my CSR 200. It starts with the occasional inability to disengage the clutch and, if the current issue progresses, leads to a near total inability to disengage the clutch. Both of the previous failures have resulted in broken friction plates. Leading to The original friction plate was a CP5352-5 and Caterham suggested trying this CP5352-12 (the CSR260 version) but this also failed. It currently has a CP5352-12 installed in it and I changed the outer bit (sorry not the technical term) when I did the last change. As the CP5352-nn plates are no longer available it appears Helix versions are being suggested. My question is what could be causing this type of failure? I would like to fix the cause at the same time as installing the third plate! If the cause is me then what am I doing wrong? I'm at the point of ordering a new spigot bearing, friction plate, 6-speed box input shaft and bearing but I'd rather not buy everything if I can help it. Thankyou in anticipation.
  4. My understanding is that Nova have acquired the moulds for the Avon ZZS & ZZR, is this actually the case? If so, do we know if Nova have also acquired the receipt for the rubber?
  5. With the temporary / permanent demise of Avon ZZS / ZZR what are people putting on CSRs? Fronts 195/50R15 & Rears 245/40R15 Thoughts and suggestions please. Normal usage, 1-2K road miles and 3-5 track-days per year.
  6. I'm working through an issue on my car and have removed the engine to check the clutch. The friction plate looks fine (the item I thought had failed) but we noticed some cracking on the outer edged of the clutch cover contact surface. I'm going to replace the clutch cover but could this surface failure stop the clutch disengaging intermittently when the clutch pedal is depressed? On a general note: Edit: Apologies you will have to look closely to see the blue lines!! For the eagle eyed amongst you I have the blue marked items on the photo below show the evidence of the previous clutch plate failure. This happened to me in the 1st hour or the 1st track day or three with BaT in eastern Europe a few years ago. With the use of a pantechnicon trailer tail lift and a parts deliver the following day we got on track at lunchtime of the 2nd track day. A good team effort!
  7. Ok to answer my own question: Spigot Bearing portion of the shaft 15mm (cheers to Simon_h) Number of splines = 23 Spline shaft diameter = 25mm so I guess 1"
  8. This might be a route I'm taking! Engine & gearbox out this week and then decide what to do. Cheers for the feedback
  9. Wrightpayne and Eriedor thank you for the links, appreciated! 7Wonders and Ecr, in the absence of an old first motion shaft would something like https://www.amazon.com/Dorman-HELP-14503-Clutch-Alignment/dp/B000C5C74K work the same way? If so, can someone let me know the number of splines, the OD of the splines and the OD of the pin that goes into the spigot (??) bearing in the end of the crank? Failing that does anyone have a spare 1st motion shaft laying around that I can purchase? Cheers
  10. I'm looking for a clutch alignment tool, can anyone recommend a good ready-to-use one? I came across https://www.rwdmotorsport.com/product/clutch-alignment-tool-fors/ but I'm not 100% sure it's the correct size. Cheers
  11. Hi Jonathan, Thank you for the pointer but no starter motor specifics on any of the documents. Anyone else any ideas?
  12. Can anyone confirm if the Caterham Parts STARTER MOTOR DURATEC ENGINE will work on a Cosworth 2.3 Duratec in a 2007 CSR200? Does anyone have a suggestion for a replacement as mine has started being intermittent. I think it's the solenoid unit but I'm not 100%? Cheers
  13. I'm told these are from a Mk4 2005 Golf, does anyone have the VAG part number or at least confirm the Golf year and Mk? Cheers

    CSR Geometry

What are the base geometry settings for a CSR road car as well as the standard ride height and rake? Are there recommended settings for track use?
