  1. Never had a failure, but I completely agree and ready for it with a tether.
  2. The Wingman for the Road’s Goose tent has been on my shopping list for a while. Designed for motorcycling, but could easily be adapted to be tied to the roll bar of a 7. Very hard wearing canvas. Comes with a sleeping bag and mattress, but I’d probably use a separate mat and bag. https://wingmanoftheroad.com/collections/camping-systems
  3. Thanks Stu. The position of your addition is where the original filler should have been if only for Caterham usage. However, I appreciate many vehicles can use the Type 9 box.
  4. Thanks folks, after a bit of investigation and moving wiring etc. I do I indeed have one of the above noted cast top plates. However, might need to go on a hand diet to reach the cap. Thanks everyone
  5. 🤣 thank you, I’ll see if my grandchildren are free
  6. Thanks Guy, do you access from inside the car? Remove tunnel cover?
  7. Fabulous thanks, I do indeed have such a set. I’m going to cut a small length off an allen key, pop into the plug and try this out, thanks do much
  8. Thank you folks, some great ideas there. I was contemplating cutting a hole in my footwell panel, until I realised there’s a chassis tube directly in front of the plug.
  9. I’ve been reading with interest the number of topics of emptying and refilling the Type 9 gearbox, particularly the difficulty accessing the allen bolt head. I was therefore wondering if anyone had managed to replace this allen headed plug with a square or hex headed plug please? My thinking being, such a plug would therefore allow much easier access for removal / refitting of the plug.
  10. Mine looks like yours and I believe it is McLaren Orange. Do Caterham call it ‘Ballistic Orange’? Or is that another orange?
  11. Pretty poor photos I’m afraid, but I put my bike in for comparison. One side lights, one with brake lights. Photos taken in bright sunshine and don’t really do the luminosity any favours. I’d suggest they were equally as bright, the only issue with the 7 is, they’re so low. Hence, like may suggest, I’d be better to support with a high level brake light.
  12. Magic, a wee call tomorrow. I did have a decat, but after my first MOT when I found I needed one (had assumed I didn’t) I removed and sold.
  13. Central Scotland, just outside Stirling
  14. Interested Peter, how much is postage please? What’s the insurance take on decating?
  15. I too have clear lenses with JAL multi-LED lights underneath. I can take a photo tomorrow to show brightness. They are very bright.
