  1. 😬 😬 😬 Yes it has explained it, thank you Brent Chiswick Rick
  2. Brent Chiswick, what you say contradicts the advice given by two engine builders I have spoken to. I rang a Mr Chris Smith @ Raceline yesterday and he confirms what Se7en-Up said, and that they would only recommend 10/40 Semi Synthetic oil for both Silver and Black top engines when used in a 7 type environment, i.e. hard driving high revving use but with regular oil changes. Regards, Confused of Bristol
  3. Just when I thought I had the answer............... ☹️
  4. No mine is not a race engine it's a brand new standard Ford production unit , I bought it from Tiger Cars in Wisbech. All I have done is fit a pair of Weber carburettors and a custom welded low level sump. Rick
  5. Thank you for your replies however I am still a bit confused, I have now got hold of a Haynes Mondeo manual and this confirms what you both (not Se7en-Up!) say in that you should use 5/30. The problem is that the Mondeo engine is a SILVER TOP and mine is a BLACK TOP (from the Focus I believe) . i.e. it has solid lifters so would you still use the same oil? I rang the company I bought the engine from and they say use 10/40 semi synthetic??? So now I am really confused Rick
  6. Can someone tell me which oil to use in a 2L ZETEC please? Rick

  8. ALL EFA's POSTS DELETED. I would like to think he has taken my advice, but I doubt it!
  9. I have been in sales and marketing all my working life and have been, and still am extremely successful and now at the pinnacle of my career. I know absolutely nothing about, composites, carbon fibre or the other products you have been discussing. What I do know is that the attitude and temperament EFA has shown/adopted will ensure has he will NEVER EVER succeed in marketing his products to the true professionals within his proposed target market. In layman’s terms that EFA ‘may’ understand I offer this (free and without prejudice) advice, shut up whilst you still have a remote chance of making you new venture successful, or risk loosing your not insignificant initial investment. Anonymous maybe, but someone who actually gives a dam.

  11. Guy Ford part number 6107894, not normally held in stock by Ford dealers but readily available within a day or so. Eddie
  12. If you go back upstairs you will have to start looking at all the "SPOTTED" and "WHICH TYRES" threads, how boring much more fun down here.
